i like all of your shit, and this stuff ain't no exception.
it's rough and dirty, almost nitty-gritty, but quite honest in its presentation. sort of like a folk song
either way, and to supplement one of the above posts, your illustrations in any context are very fun, colorful, spunky, full of energy like a christie hemme on prozac, et cetera, and is as playful as the theme, contrary to pope-ular opinion
but as for the new, perhaps it's about growing up, and in a way, stipplewitz is growing up ...again? stipplewitz has a fairly interesting, bored and nigh sorrowful expression in that first picture, like it's saying something else subversively, or else i'm making a retarded inference. but that would mean she's developing a stronger and more matured personality! and i think that comes through nicer, and probably what really engages me about the first picture. it may make things a little more sentimental, but perhaps something can be done with that, without making too much of a cheeseball scene. that's what i'm afraid of
now, all the children sing
all the girls who are independent
appreciate my honesty
