Anybody play an unconventional instrument, like a dulcimer, or a hurdy gurdy? How about a Glass harmonica? Anyone, Shamisen?

Too late! Already played with the NEST band (2009), with Max.

Too late on vocals, too. Covered that. 😛 😉

Guitar: 45 years (I think this means I even pre-date Daddy); assorted other instruments: after that.

Actually, I've been talking to Max about putting a NEST band together since around 2004 or so. I think it would be pretty darned cool. Only problem I see is that we'd have to do it like an open mike, swapping people out every few tunes or so, because we'd have potentially so many musicians.

Ooh I forgot about the NEST talent show! That was SO much fun 😀 I hope they do it again next year.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view), my segment with Max came after the talent show proper, and after almost everyone had left (the "crowd" consisted of, if I remember correctly, three people). We played for about 12 or 15 minutes (three or four tunes).

Oh bummer - I didn't get to hear it 🙁 Max played with someone during the show, too...who was that??

EDIT: Nevermind - it was Alchemy 🙂 I remember now.
 
Vocal - Life

Guitar - 7 years

Piano - bits and pieces

Alto Saxophone - 3 years


And Andy Mckee is one of my faves...he is too talented for words.
 
guitar about 10 years and dabble in some drums. vocals as well.......

but i hardly consider myself a musician.
 
I alternate with the cello, piano, bass guitar, vox, and standing bass.
 
I've been playing the drums now for almost four years now, come December. I've been trying to form a progressive rock/metal band now for a couple years, but nobody seems interested in playing that kind of music.

I've also considered picking up the harmonica recently.
 
Ive been playing electric bass now for 30 years and now I work mostly on the fretless. I also play piano. Music is an exciting ongoing journey where your always learning and always growing. I dont just listen to bass players I listen to everything.

I met this kiwi guy in oz who played the bagpipes and had a set that he was taking with him on his travels. He was fucking amazing we attempted to jam on the roof of this hostel but the damn things completely overpowered me lol. Incredible instrument
