I love the cartoonish effect of your work, but why is your tickling style so much different than in your other works?
Hey Tizzy:
Thanks for the compliment on the cartonish effect! I appreciate it! In terms of style, a lot of it has to do with medium and technique.
When I am working with oil paint, or charcoal, or some other medium, it will change the style quite a bit.
Another reason might be when the work was done. All my tickle work is recent (withing the last year or so). All of the other work is 1-4 years older than that. My style has changed a lot in those few years.
But I think the main reason for the difference is the change that has occurred in me. In college I was not sure what I wanted to get out of my art work, or if I wanted to do fine art, animation, or something else professionally. I was trying to be very serious about my art, trying to think like a professional. I have come to realizing that fine art is not for me right now. I like Doodling, pen and inks, comic art. So this comic style is kind of the new me, and the new direction. A direction that I am truly loving, and I hope to god the river continues to flow this direction ;P
That was probably waaaaaaaay more than you wanted to know. But thanks very much for the interest, and I hope that answered your question.
Take care,
Bandito
