It has come to my attention that Florida passed a new law recently allowing it's citizens to use deadly force if they feel the least threatened, and they don't even have to try to walk away. or flee. Now first may I say that it is the right of all countries, states, provinces, etc., to pass whatever laws they like but I feel this law is really going too far. I vactioned down in Florida a few years ago and enjoyed my time but because of this law I will not be going back. I feel the lawmakers down there have made a big mistake as I feel it's going to cost them a lot of tourist dollers. Any thoughts on this people?

Good, I'm glad a state is brave enough to come out and say it.

"Sometimes you can't run...so feel free to fuck him up."

I can tell you right now that if someone comes into my home or tries to attack me, I am going for their throat with the kitchen cleaver (or my bare hands if I have no weapons). You wanna threaten me (or any of my family or friends), you're gonna get all I have to offer. A state law that says I can't do that can kiss my ass.

Viper, are you being sarcastic, or are you serious? The law doesn't just give people the right to defend themselves (which they could do before the law was passed), under it Floridians can now shoot and ask questions later if they feel even a little bit threatened. So arguments can be settled with guns and the shooters won't be prosecuted. :sowrong:

Somehow I don't believe we're getting an accurate picture of exactly what the new law permits. I'll reserve comment until I see the wording.

Ummm, not to be rude, but shouldn't this be in the politics section? I think it would most likely fit best there.
