Don;t know if this thread has been talked
about before, but are there certain foods
after eaten that increase ,heighten ticklishness?
The reason I ask this,is that my feet are extremely
ticklish whether bare or in socks and the other
evening hubby and I went out to chinese food, came back
to where we were staying and I got in the bed under the
sheets and the sheets tickled my feet and I don;t remember
sheets ever having that effect before!:wow:

First keep in mind that our nervous system does change from day to day. A lot of this is caused by our changes in physical activity. Now, one of the few ways that I know of that regular food may increase sensitivity to the body is through blood altering agents. For instance, I believe salt increases blood pressure. that pressure on the nerves MAY make them more sensitive. (do not try eating large quantities of salt, it is dangerous). I can't think of anything else that would be in the food that you ate that would increase sensitivity like that. There are some herbs that could increase sensitivity. Whether it would make you ticklish or not, I don't know. If so, it would mostly only increase the "light" tickle feeling. The "hard" tickle is MOSTLY enacted with the element of surprise. I guess you could highten that type of sensitivity too if you used herbs that altered the human awareness. but, none of those herbs would have been used in that high of dose in the food.(I wouldn't think so anyway!)

Whew... I don't know if that helps, but there ya go anyhow.

not exactly what you are talking about but...

while ‘doing downtown’ the other night with some friends, we shopped a few of the unique little shops on main street. in one of these stores there was “Body Chocolate”. it was powdered chocolate with a feather for applying to the body. apparently it makes a good cup of hot choc too lol 😀

If the Chinese food had MSG it could have an effect, as MSG alters the sensitivity of the nervous system (usually it causes hedaches.... but your case may be a little different....)

The late tickle artist CB used to say that his wife became more ticklish after eating spicy food. My own experiments in that direction have been inconclusive, though.

Tickling Theory 101 has been moved downstairs to Classroom 1-D, 2PM Thursday, Professor Shem. Be there or be square. 😀
