Foot fetishism: Is it a guy thing?

I've read that as far as a foot fetish is concerned, a vast majority of it is men. The likelyhood of a woman having one is very rare. Are there any women here who this applies to? What's your take on it either way?

I'm no expert on it.So I'll give an opinion from personal experiences. It seems the male is more the one who makes the first move, aggressive, suggestive more so than the female. I am sure there are many females who make the first move. I myself have never encountered any and I am not trying to offend anyone. But it seems that the females that I have tickled, kissed,and suckled on their feet, some of them have privatley asked if we could do it again. Alot of women whome I haven't tickled, when I am feeling them out, have said how much they hate their feet and despise having them touched. Like I said I am only offering an opinion. I have heard that any fetish is almost only male. Mind you, these are the people to whom "fetish" means a physical object or even a specific part of the body. "They" say that, through shame or whatever, the man is unable to consciously lust for the woman's genitals. The libido is there, so we find other outlets for it.
I don't think that would only apply to men, though. Probably lots of forms of ideology and fundamentalism result from similar stuff (nuns!).
By "their" definition, incidentally, bondage isn't a fetish unless it's a specific item, like a gag or handcuffs, and tickling wouldn't be unless it was a feather thing or what have you. The action or situation, they wouldn't call that a fetish. "Fetish" was originally a term for religious or magic(k) talismans and such.

I believe the Kinsey Report suggested there is a certain phase boys go through that girls don't, when they stop *identifying* with the mother and start *relating* to her, and during this phase anything that happens may color his sexual tendencies for life. Long before sexual maturity.

I wish society would stop despising men who've been effected by this (it won't). Which is not to say such a man isn't responsible for his actions, just that you can't not like something you like.
For my own part, my fascination with lesbians is definitely a result of having been told male sexuality is harmful to women. Unfortunately, as I've learned, this belief is shared by many lesbians. Heh. And straight women prefer men who don't think their sexuality is harmful as well.
I guess it could be far worse: I'm thoroughly repulsed by poop, lol.

One last thing, a universal difference between men and women that seldom gets mentioned: a healthy man's body, as we all know, produces somewhere around 100 million reproductive cells every day. A woman has a finite number, and releases one every 28 days. Maybe the male majority in the fetish world has something to do with that?

Agreed. The other thing I forgot that is typically part of the definition of fetish is that the person can't get off without it.
