Foot tattoos?

Anybody ever gotten a tattoo on their foot? I've always wondered if it hurt, or tickled, or both. I kinda think they are cool looking(most of them) I bet most people that get foot tattoos are into feet to some degree. Its like a marking that says,"Hey I like my feet!"

Foot tattoos are notoriously painful and the ink generally doesn't "stick" that well (same with hands). It would likely need frequent touch ups.

I am actually going to get a tattoo of some vines intertwining with tiny roses and a big pink feather on my foot.... leading from my ankle to my big toe!!! I will let you know how much it hurts... and will take a pic!!! I don't know if it will tickle... i'd rather it did than be painful!!!!!!!!!!!! peace

Foot tattoos (whether on the top or the sole) are definitely painful. Any overly sensitive area, or an area with less cushion that is close to bone, will be painful.

If it's on the sole, it will likely wear off in about a year, give or take a couple months.

as mairead said, it's generaly going to hurt, in most cases alot, but it depends, on the sole, it will wear off and fade to almost nothing rather quickly. On the tops however, depending on where abouts, it should be fine, a well placed foot tattoo will last as long as any other. A close female friend of mine hates feet but loves tattoo's. She recently got one to help get over her hatred for them, i guess it's a balance thing. She said it didn't hurt much, but she's a tuff girl, bar her i've always been told it's complete agony but always worth it.

Heh, at first I thought that picture was of your supposedly non-existent feet, Annie. But seriously, like the others have mentioned, foot tattoos are supposed to hurt like the dickens.

I have a tattoo on the top of my foot ( i don't know if it counts ) and it hurt like hell!!!! didn't tickle at all. the only part that did tickle was when he put his hand on the bottom of my foot. I kept squirming!!!!

If a foot tattoo's gonna wear off anyways, why not just get a henna tattoo? You'll avoid the pain and can change it up whenever you like. Get the regular tat on an area where it'll last.

When I met first met Melinda in '91, as part of our first "date" we went to a shop and got her a foot tattoo, floral work on the top of her foot and around the side and ankle. Since then she's had that piece extended twice, in '94 and in 2006. Very little fading at all, no more than any other. Together we probably own about $3,000 worth of skin art between us by now. If I could fiugre out how to upload a copy of her soot tat I'd do so, maybe in a couple days. Most of our art accumulated at the Richmond, Virginia Tattoo Arts Festival, tho' M's middle son is now a tattooist himself.

We also have a gf from New Jersey we've known for about 10 years, who on a 'dare' mainly from this perv', got a tattoo across the entire sole of her foot during the show. It did wear off in about 6 to 8 weeks to little more than a smudge on the inner center of her instep. But getting it was really interesting. Despite being a trooper, she'd twist in her seat every fifteen minutes or so. Women walking by would look at what she was getting and make scared grimacing faces.

Guys walking by would grin and late/famous artist Bob Montagna who was a friend of hers made this "dig deeper" motion with his hand to the tattooist working on her foot.
