I cannot believe the most dominant, powerful, and feared federation in wrestling is coming to destroy the WWF......they have returned.....The nWo!! It's a NEW WORLD ORDER!!

BTW: I know wrestling is fake. I still think it is cool though. 😎

Krokus, The NWO was extremely popular in 1996-97, and the ratings for WCW clobbered the WWF. But, to bring them back now? I think it's a bad move. Hall and Nash are in their mid-forties and Hogan was past his prime 5 years ago. Especially when you compare them to the younger talent the WWF has(Triple H, Jericho, Hardy Boys, RVD).
At the same time, I do think Ric Flairs role has been working since he got back to the WWF, so who knows?

Drew

i agree with that. one of the things that took down WCW was that they had all older wrestlers and were'nt bringing in enuf interesting younger talent. WWF already has enuf. hopefully if it does'nt go well they will pull the plug quick. shot they have so many wrestlers now that they cant show them all..but then again they did'nt seem to have enuf for the royal rummble (i got to go...yay.) so they had to yank a few out of retirement...lol....so who knows...maybe they have different plans. should be interesting to watch.

I think Vince has his plans all set and that bringing in the NWO is a way to split the groups again. There's been talk for a while about him re-establishing the WCW/ECW group in some way. There are so many guys there now that he can pretty much do a show every day of the week.

As for Prime's comment about bringing back some of the older guys for the rumble, I disagree. I doubt that the number of available guys had anything to do with it. They have a ton of guys now. Vince is first and foremost and entertainer/businessman. He knows that people will tune in just to see how the "oldies" look/make out. It's good business. AND...it keeps them in the loop if they ever do need them to build a storyline.

Now, what about this HHH Jr. deal?! LOL

Ann

actually i did hear something about him splitting the groups back up again also. and yeah you have a point. people do like to see some of their old favorites so that was deffinately part of the reason. but he was pretty much using his stable of guys and he couldnt much tap into the old ECW/WCW well too much because in the story line they werent suppose to be there anymore...lol..but we know how that goes...or untill they establish the direction they are going...still it should be interesting.

if they wanna bring back the geriatric members of the nwo thats fine...whatever...it'll be interesting. but what i wanna know is where the hell is scott steiner? i suppose hes doing what goldbergs doing...sitting back waiting for his aol/time warner contract to expire so he wont have to buy out of it and get less money. they got chumps like booker t and ddp but no scott steiner or goldberg....what a bummer. as far as the nwo wiping out wwf...theres only 3 of them dude. 3 old timers at that. unless they start a massive recruiting campaign like they did back in the day. wouldnt surprise me. but the reaction to 3 old guys coming to wwf is way overboard. their acting like doomsday is coming. not yet but hopefully soon

i have to join in this discussion. as for the NWO, its just a way for Vince McMahon to split up the roster. i think we will see the NWO handled differently in the WWF than it was in WCW. as for HogaN, Hall, and Nash, fans still like them. i went to the Smackdown taping in Los Angeles Staples Center 2/5/02 and i can tell you first hand that Hogan for one is still LOVED. remember that video Ric Flair "made" that showed the history of the WWF? everytime Hogan was shown, the place went nuts!!! so there is still some love for the "old guy". look at Ric Flair. he is old as dirt, and fans still go WOOOOOOOOO!!!

Steiner is rumored to be signing soon, but Goldberg is waiting out his contract. actually Goldberg has been acting like a little B**** by bashing the WWF/Vince McMahon. Goldberg should realize that Vince would make him a STAR, even more than he ever had in WCW. Nash, and Hall's contracts were up, and they were unemployed with no other job lined up. same will happen to Goldberg. what he wants to remember is, when his contract does run out, he better pray there is another federation because otherwise Goldberg will be spearing hamburgers. he better stop bashing McMahon.

the NWO angle will be entertaining and it adds new storylines. i'm glad there are new faces because i could only watch HHH/Austin/Rock fight each other for so long. Jericho, Angle, and BookerT are decent, but Nash, Hogan and Hall will add fresh stories....

does anyone agree that Undertaker should change his ring entrance music to enhance his "bad guy" character. people still cheer for the guy.

also this thought. my prediction is Stephanie McMahon's baby actually belongs to JERICHO. why? 1st of all, Jericho needs a major storyline to establish himself as a major heel. why not face HHH? 2nd, notice how much Jericho and Stephanie McMahon ALWAYS kept "fighting" with each other. they spent way too much time agitating each other for something not to happen. and 3rd, remember when good ol' JR asked Stephanie if she was unfaithful to HHH because there was a rumor of her being unfaithful? well.......that's my prediction...

what? if ya smelllllllllllllll......"TIME TO PLAY THE GAME"

Yea

I am an nWo die-hard fan, and I think the only big gun the wwf has against them is HHH.....but a good Jacknife powerbomb will take him out. 😀 Hogan will leg-drop flair into oblivion.....and Hall will put angle in his place with a Outsider's edge.....As for Steve Austin and the rest of em.....I would be one to bet that there will be a few traders in the WWF.....face it fellas, the NEW WORLD ORDER is coming to dominate this federation. I am happily at their mercy!! IT'S JUST TOOOOO SWEEET!!!! 4Life!! 😎

(sorry but I am a drama king) 😀

The WWF had the same problem with Austin as a heel last year, the audiences STILL cheered for him. They should make 'Takers music more menacing.
That would be hysterical if Stephs baby turned out to be Jerichos, imagine the possibilties. I still think the whole baby thing is just a put on and she'll get caught on camera revealing to someone it's just a ruse.
Also would like to see the whole Triple H/Steph marrige turn out not to be legal when it happened 3 years ago.(remember he drugged her, then "married" her in Vegas).

Drew

oh yeah...i forgot...stephanies pregnant. what i think is going to happen is the baby will be born with cris jericos face....ric flairs hair...the rocks abs and rakishis ass. wont triple h be happy?😀

i can`t wait to see the nWo again,i've been waiting to see hall back in the ring for years.it`s about time vince brought in the real talent of wcw,not all the jackasses that were/are here like booker t and ddp.hogan is old,but he does make a good heel.i wonder who`s gonna get the first leg drop?

oh yeah....i work in toys"r"us on L.I. and Mick Foley walked in!apparently he goes there alot.let me tell ya,this guy is huge....and he dresses the same as you`ve seen him on tv,sweatpants, old t-shirt,and a flannel vest.

It's a known fact that Hall, Nash and Bollea (Hogan) are the biggest ass-kissing politicians in the business. When Nash was made booker in WCW a few years back, he made himself champion, while putting a "glass ceiling" over the promising stars, as well producing some really dire matches along the way. I can admire what Hogan has done for the business. I was a fan when I was little. But he's alienated himself from other people in his roster, thinking he's above everyone. He won't even job to "minnows" (against Jarrett at Bash at the Beach 2000 for example). No wonder high-caliber wrestlers like Steve Austin, Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho hated him when they were in WCW (and left promptly). Hall on the other hand is an OK wrestler, but his workrate and personal problems overshadow it.

I think they should bring those 3 for storylines only. If they wrestled and made young guns like RVD, Edge, etc. look bad, that I won't tolerate. Still, I hope Austin, Benoit (my fave wrestler) and Jericho whup those old crusties as retribution...

Poisonous Monkey

P.S: Booker T is great. You should've seen him in WCW as the top babyface. I think Scott Steiner is a dickhead. He's very selfish and I don't like that, even though he's a great wrestler. HHH wouldn't be put down by the nWo. He's friends with Hall and Nash, and HHH is a backstage politician himself. How did he win the Royal Rumble, eh?

but the ONE BIG difference with NWO in the WWF than with the NWO in WCW is the fact that Vince McMahon calls the shots. PERIOD. Nash, Hall, Hogan and ANYBODY else will not run the show. that was the problem in WCW. no one was a leader. the inmates ran the saylum. but in the WWF, Vince is the man, and he will not tolerate any nonsense. of course there will always be the usual politics, but it will not be anything like the WCW. because Vince can ALWAYS replace the top guy. who would have thought Hulk Hogan couldnt be replaced? Shawn Michaels? Bret Hart? the list goes on and on. for a while Stone Cold Steve Austin started getting a big head, and when he was injured, he noticed the Rock, and Triple H were the front runners and their popularity SOARED. McMahon can create stars and no one will ever go above him. remember Sable? Chyna? both got too big for their britches, now you dont really hear from them as much. also remember, Hall/Nash/Hogan USED to be in the WWF. they will know what is up.

this NWO is storyline use period. McMahon knows the reason why WCW fell apart is because of their reluctance to push their new stars. hell, McMahon even bashed the WWF because of it by calling WCW, the WWF "retirement home". McMahon will push this storyline until it runs dry, but guys like Edge, RVD, and such will not fall by the wayside.

i'm looking forward to it because i have always been a Hogan fan. since i was a kid i was a "Hulkamaniac". still am and always will be. his heel role is strange, but i always liked Hogan. but i still love Rock, HHH, SCSA, Angle and the others. i think fans are getting too worked up about the NWO. let the storyline present itself and enjoy the ride. imagine this at Wrestlemania. HHH vs Jericho, Rock vs Hogan, SCSA vs Nash, etc....interesting huh?

what do you guys think about "Billy and Chuck"??? you have to admit, they are funny.......but you have to give it up for Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson in the posedown. i was THERE!!!!

last i heard hogan, nash and hall were practicing with some of the wwf wrestlers trying to get used to them...they said hogan and nash were in great shape and doing well...hall on the other hand needs alot of work. i guess we will find out at no way out how ready they are.

I wonder how Billy Gunn feels about getting all the constant character changes? Lets see, The Smoking Gunns, Rockabilly, Bad Ass Billy Gunn, The One, and now just Billy.
At least Kane and the A.P.A. have characters that have endured for a few years.(even though Bradshaw was Justin Hawk Bradshaw and then Blackjack Bradshaw for a short time).

Drew

At least Gunn keeps getting fresh chances, no matter how determinedly mediocre he is. I can think of many better wrestlers who don't get that consideration.

As for the split, last I read was that it's been postponed to after Wrestlemania. But it's been pushed back so many times, it's reached "I'll believe it when I see it" status with me.

I'll admit to being a bit curious about how the nWo will work in the WWF, but I'm not terribly hopeful. You've got a chronic drunk, a guy with the knees of an octogenarian, and a creaky fossil who still hasn't realized the '80s are over. None of them have a reputation for being cooperative, for being interested in putting others over, or for being hard workers. (Okay, Hall can work hard if he's motivated, but he hasn't been motivated since around 1995.) And THESE are the guys who are going to jar the WWF awake again? Nah. Don't think so. I'd rather see the WWF push guys who are actually in their primes now, rather than 20 years past 'em -- like Edge, Test, RVD, Christian, Lance Storm, Benoit and Rhyno (when they return) and so on and so forth.

Oh, and Stephanie is NOT pregnant. She's just faking it to keep Triple H in line. Any other conclusion to this angle would lead to me throwing stuff at my TV.

Anyway, new question: who's planning to get No Way Out? I haven't decided yet; probably, unless they add some really intriguing matches during this week, I'll give it a pass and save my money for 'Mania.

I think the nWo is just Vince's way of yet again pushing his extra-large ego. It's his way of showing Eric Bishoff "I can make the nWo work and you couldn't". Actually the nWo did work - too well in fact. It just got out of control and once the catch element was used up, it's value was up and rehashed into multi losing angles. Lots of fans say the nWo killed the WCW. In a way they were right. I think that's why Vince has started this whole angle with "going to kill the WWF."

Well

I think that the nWo will be around for a long time.....if some young WWF superstars like Edge, Rhyno, and Test join the NEW WORLD ORDER, it will be fine. I would not mind seeing HHH join.....but thats just me......😎

i`m just glad it`s not gonna be the silver and black nWo with jeff jarret as the leader, that had to be the worst idea ever.

anyone know whats up with benoit,i know he had surgery.....but does anyone know if and when he`ll be back?

Benoit should be back in april/may -- He was supposed to be back for wm18, but rehab had a setback, so he may be back in a non-wrestling capacity in march, but it's looking like it'll be april

did anyone enjoy RAW last night (2/11/02)? man, it was hilarious!! finally Stephanie got what she deserved. although, you have to admit, she is one ATTRACTIVE woman. but one of the funnier scenes was when Vince was telling her, "i'll never forget when you tried to run me out of business. i will never forget that you wanted to watch me DIE." man, that had me laughing. it was the way Vince said it. wrestling is hilarious.

as for the NWO, like i said, it will be alright. i doubt it will have the same effect like it did in WCW. first of all, in WCW, it was a surprise. in the WWF, it is no surprise adn fans already know what the NWO is all about. they will be just another group that McMahon controls. i think their style will be different. McMahon controls them, not Hogan, not Nash, and not Hall.

HHH, Rock and SCSA will eventually have a 6 man tag against NWO. wouldnt that be fun? also, i think Stephanie will hook up with Jericho. just my predictions

Primetime-- How could you leave out the bikini match between Torrie and Stacy? They are 2 of the most awesome women on the planet.

Also, I have Wrestlers as clients (NO, not Stone Cold or the Rock). What I'm told is that HHH wants to be a bad guy, but he's just too popular. He and Steph will temporarily feud, but it's all a big swerve and after the novelty of HHH's return fades we will see him back with Steph as a bad guy.

i heard somewhere that steph and triple H were really dating..that he dumped chyna for her. on triple H being a bad guy, i bet he would like to do that again..seems more fun.

nWo coming to WWF, huh? I'm gonna have to agree with some of these people who say it's going to be just for storyline. First, it'll probably break through like some earth-shattering event, and then it'll gradually settle into normality like most of Vince MacMahon's great ideas, or fade off into a new direction, maybe keeping the big 3 around without the nWo label, when the novelty melts away. Vince MacMahon knows what he's doing. As far as Hogan, Hall, and Nash being too old?
What?
What?
What?
What?
Hell no! So what if they're in their forties? Austin himself is pushing forty, and has been around for many years. Geez, I can remember Stunning Steve Austin in Global Wrestling Federation (GWF. Boy, those were the good old days.), with the likes of the Patriot, and the Lightning Kid (more recently known as X-Pac). How old they are doesn't really matter, as long as they can perform and entertain. If they can take bumps without injuring themselves, and manipulate the crowds, I don't see the problem. C'mon. Ric Flair is how old? I still find him to be one of the most entertaining personas in there. Who couldn't love a drunken, senile crazy in action? Shoot, bring 'em all back!

I could think of all sorts of older wrestlers I'd like to see brought back into action. Here's a few of them:

Rowdy Roddy Piper
Randy Savage
Meng
Shawn Michaels (was in WWF New York, recently, but I still want to see him perform)
Bret Hart
the Great Muta
the Bushwhackers (I think they wrestle in an independent organization, now.)

Also, they're not necessarily old, but I'd be more than happy to see all the luchadores brought back into action. WWF has always seemed rather limited when it came to high-flying, light-weight underdogs. Then again, it seems more and more people can perform moonsaults, hurricanranas, and sentons nowadays...
