I'm not good at posting links, but I just read on MLB.com that former Houston Astros relief ace Dave Smith passed away of a heart attack today. He was only 53.

Smith pitched for the Astros for many years. Most baseball fans probably remember Smith as the reliever who surrendered Len Dykstra's game ending home run in Game 3 of the 1986 NLCS, which turned a 5-4 Astros lead, into a 6-5 Mets win.

R.I.P. Dave. He died far too young.
