Former Major Leaguer Mel Hall Sentenced To 45 Years In Jail For Raping 12 Year Old

I'm not good at posting links, but I just read online that former major league outfielder Mel Hall, who played in the major leagues from 1984 to 1996, was sentenced yesterday to 45 years in jail, for raping a 12 year old girl that he was coaching on a youth basketball team. According to the article, Hall also had inappropriate contact with other young girls who he was coaching. Hall will not be eligble for parole for at least 22 1-2 years. Mr Hall is currently 48 years old.

This is one of the most haenious crimes. I hope the dirtbag rots in jail for the rest of his life! If anyone has the link to this article about Hall's sentencing, and could post such, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Good riddance. Anyone that does something like that to a child deserves prison. I'd actually argue that 45 years is too lenient, but given how old he is now, he may die behind bars anyway.
