I suppose. But after the several phone conversations we've had I agree with your previous statement that you only have the slightest twinge of a southern drawl. It is very hard to detect.

I'm not American but I thought I'd take this anyway. I have absolutely no idea how any of those words could be pronounced the same; what's wrong with you people? 😛 When I mentioned it'd put me in the Northeast category to Angelic0886 I was informed that New York accents are supposed to be kinda close to English ones... wrong, wrong, wrong wrong wrong. Wrong! Grrrrr. 🙂 This test has ruined my life. Possibly.

I got the Northeast result like David.s above. Since I'm a 20 minute walk from the Massachusetts border I also took the "How Massachusetts are you?" quiz and scored 100% on that one. You guys from Mass. should take that one...it was "wicked pissa"!

I pronounce Mary and marry identically, and merry very differently from those two. The three choices offered were;
1-all the same
2-Mary like merry but different from marry

I quickly pick up the local accent wherever I live.
In Durham NC I sounded like a hillbilly.
In Noo Yawk I sounded just like Brooklyn
In Pittsburgh I sound like a Pittsburger (and no, you do NOT get fries with that!)
But I probably do taste better with ketchup.

I flew from Atlanta to southern California yesterday (heading for Oregon to spend Christmas with my sis and her family), and the kids at Carl's jr could barely understand my order at the drive thru window last night 😀
