FYI - New Tickle Scene in Totally Spies Cartoon (*/ff) - no pic

Cartoon Network started showing the 4th Season of Totally Spies last week (yes... it made it to four seasons... I'm as shocked and aghast as anyone), and a new tickle scene can be added to the mainstream list.

In the episode titled "Mime Your Own Business', an evil mime (what other kind are there?) named JazzHands unleashes a device (it's an accordian... talk about evil) which transforms his victims into mimes. The victims lose the ability to speak, their face turns white like mime make-up and their clothes transform into the standard black and white mime costume. It's horrible!!!

Anywho... while investigating the case, Sam and Alex get zapped and become mimes (which is a real bummer because they're the ones who get tickled, so no laughter from them when it happens). As the story nears the climax, the girls wind up battling JazzHand's two apprentice mimes (i.e. thugs) atop a giant weiner dog shaped zeppelin (you have to see it to believe it). As one thug fights with Clover, the other thug pulls out a pair of "extendo hands" and use them to tickle Sam and Alex's ribs and tummy. Although there's no sound (again... a real bummer), both girls are totally helpless in fits of silent laughter. Clover uses a gadget to make the save and they go on to defeat the evil mime mastermind.

The scene comes in the last few minutes of the episode, and is really short... maybe 10 seconds max, but it was still pretty cute to see. And now we know one sure way to defeat the spies... bwaahahahahahahahahaha!!!

evil mimes seem kinda old plot, was originally done in No One Lives Forever 2, and it was done right, btw, i friggin love that game.

Well... the good news is, here are the links to 5 anime clips I've loaded on my server. The bad news is, they're all .dat files, which means they're huge (ranging from 5mb to 15mb... but the bandwidth is on my dime, so no kvetching, please). I'm a Mac user, so I tested them in QuickTime and they ran without any trouble. I dloaded one of the files from the web onto a PC and it ran in Windows Media Player no problem. These aren't streaming, so you have to dload the file to your hard drive and then open them using QuickTime or Windows Media Player.

So what are these files, you ask?

1) Ah! My Goddess TV ep.18 - Skuld tickling Belldandy (f/f - off screen)
It happens off screen (very much like the scene in Nuku Nuku), but it's still very cute. =^_^=

Well... it's a two stage process, and done totally without the help of the computer. I own a stand alone DVD record and a DVD Player/VCD recorder. First I recorded the show off of tv with the DVD recorder, then copy the scene off of the DVD onto CD using the VCD recorder. The VCD recorder's output is the .dat file, which is essentially an uncompressed MPEG (which is why QuickTime and Windows Media Player can view at... and why they're so big).

And that's how I did it... hope that answers your question!

i see, one of these days i'll try running them through my VirtualDub Mod and see if i can change those .dat files to .avi... i also found a few websites that have software that would allow you to convert/burn them to DVD... but i don't know if the software is any good

Well, the clip is posted already, but my TIVO claims Cartoon Network will show "Mime Your Own Business" Sat, 4/22 5:30pm EST. TIVO is sometimes wrong though.

On Saturdays, Cartoon Network sometimes runs 4-episode blocks of some programs, uuusally between 4PM - 6PM, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it is.

Modified clip, added sound track

I recorded the Apr 21 showing of the Mime episode, then I added a laugh track and lengthened the tickling a bit. It would have been much easier if the background had been stationary. If you simply repeat a section, the background jerks around. I spent hours fiddling with chroma keying, and expanding the background to scroll farther. I inserted a cut to Clover to hide some mismatch in the background. It was way more effort than I originally expected, but I learned a lot and it turned out OK.

OK, here are mpg files. I believe mpg is the same as mpeg, though you may have to change the file name extension for your software to recognize it. You can also get a windows Quicktime mov player here:

After dealing with many computer issues, I finally saw your clip. It was a nice size and excellent video and sound quality.

The original size of my recording was 640x480, but I reduced it to 176x120 to have a longer clip but be under 2Mb. I have all my graphics software on a Mac. Maybe there's a Mac way to make RAR or something similar. I did build a gaming PC, I suppose I could ftp large files there and split them as you did. I just never have, plus I'm having a lot of problems with that PC. It may be new motherboard time.
