Gender roles is not for single people

Rrrright, this isn't of great importance! For some, it's like an itch that needs constant scratching again and again. Maybe it's their misfortune to have lived in a wrong era.

I think the problem is when it becomes a gender thing and somehow the rules must be changed to accommodate the person unable to meet the required standards of living.

Its the firefighter test all over again. Some time ago a bunch of women were complaining that the requirements of being a firefighter was too hard for women to pass and that it was unfair that the ladders and hoses were too heavy. Therefore not many women were equally being hired to firefight or they would be put in more of the behind the desk jobs and it was up to the FD to lessen the requirements and make it easier for females to become firefighters.

This is also a issue with the workplace. Where some feel if they are called bossy or if they are somehow feel they are required to live up to what is required to make it as a CEO; that it isn't fair companies take into consideration of maternal leave.

Not to mention and women cleaning her house is also now considered to be by some as some sort of slavery if she doesn't work and stays at home. I just think its interesting that the normal standard of living must now be changed to accommodate to some that can't keep up.

Granted, some things are ridiculous to even give attention too but kim kardasian having a child isn't the same as say...women belong in the kitchen. Unless, she now expects every guy or girl to have a child the same day she does.

"Girl...get into the kitchen and go make me a sammich!" has as much weight as a female is willing to let it. It has no relevance to how she is as a person. I just thought it would be nice to discuss social media that is in effect now and maybe get some perspective on the minds of men and women associated with the forum but if you like you can just show me how pretty your feet are. I am aware of the doll experiment if I understand you correctly. I think that has to more with race but there are plenty of guys in the movies and magazines that don't look like the average man. Hell...look at the covers of romance novels women read. You really don't see too many men getting bent out of shape about it. So are you saying that women's psyche are that fragile? then how can she be strong and weak at the same time. doesn't make sense but that is a discussion for another time I guess.

Its funny that men are told "get over it" or "man up" when they are told do this and do that to make her happy or called a jerk or ass. However, according to you it effects a female perception of herself when told "go to the kitchen" or being bossy at the work place. Should we just say "woman up."

I believe a kitchen, laundry, housework particularly has no gender role because its really just an act of being clean and neat for your home. That's just obvious. As for the pay gap, that's been debunked because it is an over-all compilation of available jobs and there are some jobs that some women don't really apply for such as skyscraper construction. I think you can be for gender equality without tearing one down. I think it's wrong to tell a woman to get in the kitchen but that doesn't mean I think it's OK to tell men they can't show emotion etc. In fact, I don't see why that's brought up at all in the context of cleaning but OK.

There will always be these issues but the more we try to bring awareness and change mindsets, maybe a difference will be made.

Well I think its because it has been drilled so much into women that they belong in the kitchen to the point that being in the kitchen has now become some sort of man-domination thing when in fact if she lives alone she would be required to anyway. I think its funny that a guy would run to cook at a bar-barque but the kitchen...no, no, no. Doesn't make sense to me either.

Although in keeping with offenses apparently..I have a personal creed to share with you.

I can cook, sew, clean, wash, sweep, and work.
I don't need a woman for anything except for one thing
and even that I can do by myself....its just not as fun.

Exactly...and what is Hawking..a man. so his paycheck can tip the balance between men getting paid more then women as a collective.
I was using physical labor as a example but most of the higher paying jobs involve men whether physical or mental. Not because of gender biaz but because that is what the job pays.
