George RR Martin. Does he have something for feet ?

Not sure this is the right place but last time I put something like this in the Mainstream List section and got flamed straight to hell.

So any of you book readers that have read ASOIAF must have noticed the amount of detail he puts on certain scenes. This goes from sucking toes to pretty much half a page detailing how Danaerys's feet look in sandals.

Is this just description or would he be a foot guy ?

I don't recall thinking he had a foot fetish, but I do recall him being one of those writers, Joe Abercrombie being another, who constantly uses the word tickle. Not because anyone is getting tickled, just in every other possible way you could use that word - something tickles someone's memory, the rain tickles down the back of someone's neck, something funny tickles someone's sense of humor.

My eye picks up that word on the page very easily, and it's so annoying when writers constantly use it 🙂
