Getherings? What gatherings?

Everyone always talks about having a get together or something. So far it doesnt seem like any of this happens very frequently. I have tickling get togethers everyweekend at my place in cincy. Anyone else actually doing any of this or is it alot of fantasy?

Having attended gatherings in the states of New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, I can say that they do really happen. 😀

Not at all...There's always one in the works I find. I've a friend in Texas whose planning one and my friends are working out the bugs for MTP as we speak. We had one just last month for ayla that was a sleepover.

Every gathering is different. This is mainly because those hosting them are in different situations in their own lives. So, that effects how often/regularly they're able to do things.

Sometimes, it's also a matter of not enough folks expressing interest in doing something in their area. Here are three groups from your area, one for the express purpose of getting something going for gatherings. Maybe you'll be able to hook up.

Well dont get me wrong, Im not bringing up the topic because im looking to go to a gathering. I have quite enough tickling going on at home. It was just a question. It just seems like there are so many looking for it, youd think that there wouldnt be so much talk, and there would be more action.

Woth work schedules and such it isn't always convenient which is a sad reality. And then talk and teasing makes the ticklng that much more fun when we do get together!

I wouldn't mind going to a gathering, but due to time constraints, it would have to be in LA, San Diego, or Las Vegas. There is no way I could find time to go to Ohio, Michigan, Flordia, New York, etc.

Yeah, i guess i see your point. But I cant say that in my opinion, i cant see anyone gettingmuch fullfillment of a fetish such as this with out actually doing it and not just talking about it. I get PMs all the time from lurkers and even non lurkers that tell me how much they enjoy that they have us "spazzes" out there, people like me, who are willing to talk all about the latest event or adventure, because they just couldn't bring themselves do go. That's actually cool as hell that you are putting these together every weekend. Good for you! If you don't mind answering, do you get a pretty good turnout?

We've actually considered doing something similar in our area here. Just wondering how you got it started, and how long it took for you to build it into a weekly event..

Thank you so much steph! I was actually kind of wondering what he kept asking here but you worded an answer beautifully. I think you answered his question? It is different for all of us... noisy ones like you and I to the more quiet people out there. Different flavors... I'm a little confused by the question. You're having tickling parties every weekend, I get that much. You keep reading here at the TMF about gatherings in other locations, that much is also clear. I'm not sure where the "fantasy" comes in, I guess.

Of course i get a good turn out. Any time a girl is comming over to my place and knows full well that tickling is the point of the visit its a great weekend.

This makes it sound like you only have one person each time. Your other post made it sound like groups. While either one is cool, I'd be curious which it is that you're doing...one, the other or some of both.

Drew and I get together with others on a fairly regular basis. But, it's generally the result of conversations with those folks where we just end up deciding to connect in a couple days. We haven't had a larger gathering in a while since we had been in the process of moving and are still working on both indoor and outdoor projects in our new home. Even once we get things done, I'm not sure what form our gatherings will be taking. We kiinda like the smaller, more intimate get togethers with a handful of other couples. It has a whole different feel from the bigger gatherings where the majority of folsk are on their own. The fact that everyone already has someone gives things a much more relaxed feel.

One thing that I hope folks realize is that gatherings are as much about getting to know others in the community as they are about play. Getting to know one another in person is a big factor in developing true community. That carries over back into the online encounters between those people. That's a big part of where the sense of community/family comes from.

However... Not everyone is interested in gatherings. Many, for a variety of reasons, are simply not into hanging out with a bunch of other people who share their fetish. While discussing how great gatherings can be, we should make it clear that there's nothing wrong with that. While we encourage any and all who are interested to take part in gatherings because of the wonderful experiences many of us have had, it isn't something that is for everyone.

I would much prefer to meet in a group setting than one on one. Why?

I'm sure Steph is a lovely person, but what if we meet and my impression of her is, "what a bitch." And her impression of me is, "what an arrogant SOB." Then we are stuck looking for excuses to get out of this akward situation. In a group setting, we can decide that we are not into each other and easily move on.

There's lots more tickling going on that is more of the 1-1 tickling that isn't talked about as often. The "Gatherings" we often speak of are a gatherings of many folks. I think our last gathering had 20 folks there.

The gatherings of 10, 20, and well over 80 people (at NEST) certainly won't happen every weekend. We've had great turn outs at the last several events. But it's quite a job to put together an event such as this. Plus there's no way everyone could afford to drive or fly every weekend or pay for the meeting location every weekend.

Putting together the big events is time-consuming, costly, and a juggling act. None of us do this for a living. We do it for fun. We all have other things like jobs, families, homes to tend to, school, business travel, etc. that we have to tend to also.

Hopefully this will clarify what we mean when we use the term "gathering". I guess you'd call it a more formalized meeting of groups of people to enjoy our "sport".
