About the finger thing... I don't know whether or not that history is true. But I do know that the 'V' sign came from archers in England. Whenever archers were captured they'd have those two fingers cut off so that they could never fire, I guess a simelar story to the other one. So before each battle, it became custom for archers to raise their two fingers in a 'V' sign to show they had them and taunt the enemy, and it became an insult.

My history teacher told me that, so it must be true. Then again... he was also convinced that Hitler was a demon...
