please, please let the football gods smile on my favorite team this playoffs and let us go all the way.

All over for Green Bay...Sorry Mimi...On a happier note, the Patriots still don't SUCK!!!!!!!!

Ray😉

*sobs* 4th and 1. The entire season, Sherman made the decision to go for it on damn near EVERY 4th and short. Until tonight. With the whole game riding on that decision. With the entire POST season riding on that decision. This ONE time, with just over 2 minutes left in the game, only 3 point lead, NOW he decides not to go for it.

Argh. :sowrong: :sowrong: :sowrong: :sowrong: :sowrong: :sowrong:

Yessss!!!!

Well, i just recovered from my heart attack this game gave me. We Won!!!! The first step is over...thank god Sherman had a brain fart and didn't go for it on 4th and a foot. and that 4th and 26 pass? wow. now lets hope the young Panthers realize they are a game away from the big game and blink.

GO EAGLES!!!

Although Sherman (and Mike Martz in the Rams game) could be criticized for not going for it, you have to lok at the big picture, especially in Martz's case. Playing for a tie in a playoff game is going to happen more often than risking the win. If you had a QB who'd tossed three interceptions, are you going to take that chance and lose the game? I might have taken a few shots at a first down rather than the end zone, but I can't fault him. If either pass were to have been picked off, we'd all be saying "why the hell did he go for it instead of taking the easy tie?"

There was more to the Packers loss than that, or the Brett Favre ill-advised heave. They could have gotten a touchdown earlier instead of getting stopped on 4th and goal from the 1. They could have stopped McNabb's 4th and 26 pass to Mitchell for a game-saving first down. They could have kept McNabb from setting a new playoff record for QB rushing yards.

I've never been one to hang an entire game on one play, excpet in rare instances. The Packers did (or didn't do) plenty to keep Philly in it. Philly isn't a high-powered offense per se, but like Tennessee, you can't let them hang in there...they'll find a way to win.

I am an Eagles fan as well, being originally from eastern PA...bit if Indy plays the way they did against KC, both the Pats AND the Eagles are screwed.

In my opinion, that was truly, a PROFESSIONAL-ly played game. I was especially impressed by the low amount of penalties in that game, and have to agree with what one of the commentator's said...something along the lines of..."a good football team doesn't get penalties".

I got news for ya...
If the Eagles think they could get away next week with the kind of game they played last night, they might as well retrieve the golf clubs from the closet now. Green Bay should've won that game, and they could've in the second quarter if they didn't mess up that goal line stand. That was the turning point. The Eagles defense was poor, and the offensive line was almost non-existent. They didn't win so much as Green Bay lost. Next week, they're gonna have to BEAT Carolina.
I'm enjoying the Colts. This is one fun team! The game against New England next week will be highly interesting. Either way, whoever wins the AFC, I'm happy. It's an automatic, the team that the Media roots for, the Miami Dolphins, are playing golf.

The Eagles better wake up....

and smell the coffee.

there are holes in that team. I know they were hot down the stretch but this is the playoffs and Philly is vulernable. They are NOT going to win if they play the same type of game. I don't blame GB for going for the tie on the road. With Farve at the helm, they had a good a chance as anybody to win. sorry I am digressing. Back to Philly, they have never used the home field to their advantage and it looks like history is going to repeat itself. Until they win that BIG game at home, they will forever be remembered as chockers.

This is our year....EAGLES are SUPER BOWL BOUND BABY!
GO EAGLES............WHAHOOOOO! 😉

Just DeFrosted...

Being as I was AT the game in question...it was FRICKIN COLD!!!!!
I am just thawing now:wow:
What an amazing game!!
Yeah, basically the Packers screwed themselves by letting the Eagles back in it.
I know this team has holes however name another team in this years NFL that has overcome as many injuries as this team.
They loose 5 defensive lineman, their team MVP Carlos Emmons(LB),
lose the best saftey in football for 3-4 games and Brain Westbrook who had a team high 13 TD's! Amazing.
The Eagels shouldn't be where they are but they are!!
Lovin' the ride!
E-A-G-L-E-S!!
