Quite possibly one of the cooler movies i have seen ever in my life. Batman Beats a lot of people up in it as well...much more violent than the first.

I've never been a hugh batman fan, but am interested - is Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker Oscar-worthy (as has been widely reported), or was it merely a standardly good performance, which has been blown out of proportion as he is sadly no longer with us (also widely suggested by the more cynical among us)?

I'm glad this thread popped up, because I didn't want to start the 14th separate thread on the subject.

The movie was eff'ing outstanding!! Extremely dark, much more than the first. I didn't even leave the theater with a excited attitude because it was so dark. If you really got into it, it kind of looms heavy in the air. But that takes nothing away from the fact it was downright awesome. And like you teen, I though everyone was making a hoopla out of Ledger's performance was because of his death, but he absolutely knocked that performance out of the ballpark. He was dark, sinister, intelligent, funny, and 100% deranged! No one will ever nail that role like he did. If fact, in my opinion, it was one of the best villians ever in any movie. It made it only more sad that he died so young. Aaron Eckhart also did a fantastic job as Harvey Dent. Go see the movie.

I saw 'The Dark Knight' last night with Mizza. We didn't really see what was so special about it.

It was long and drawn out. The action sequences were superbly done (especially the truck scene), and I guess the storyline was pretty good...but it was a terribly long movie.

Mind you Mizza and I were several joints down when we walked in.

Heath Ledger's performance is quite spectacular though. Whether its oscar-worthy or not is arguable, but I'd be happy if he won. He is very very dark in it.

all the first weekend shows in this town have all been bought a week in advance if you try to see a showing thinking you will get a ticket forget it they even added another screen to get in like 5 more showing of it a day. not into batman that much to go threw all of that to see the show.

I'M so ugly, the Joker is going to dress up like me for Halloween.🙂 I enjoyed the dark sets and scenes, the plot twists, (who would have thought that Darth Vader is Batman's real father, too?), the dark humor, etc. everytime the joker is on the screeen you just know its gonna hit the fan(again). Good way to get your mind off of high gas prices etc.(makes the $9.00 tickets and $8.00 popcorn seem like a "bargain"?)

My only complaints are the length and the extra, superfluous villain storyline. Other than that, cool movie.

I've been staying the hell out of the Batman threads to NOT see any spoilers, but having just seen this last night, I gotta say, YA'LL GOTTA SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!! Just excellent!

Gonna see it again next week. Maybe not on IMAX again though. That'd be $60. But DAMN it was good.
