And here's the patter that goes with the drawing:
In the caverns under Cheetpinkiz Mountain, goblin law requires the womenfolk to be married by the time they reach age 25, with unmarried goblin women being sentenced to enslavement. Since female goblin births outnumber male births by five to one in the Cheetpinkiz Mountain clans, this has turned Cheetpinkiz Mountain into a major slave-trading center.
However, goblin women who have been sentenced to enslavement may choose the “mercy” of a session in the magical Tickle Barrel before being collared and sold. The goblins believe that this treatment “gentles” the victim, leaving her less distraught and more willing to accept her fate.
The goblins tell the story of Hot Helveza, who refused the mercy of the Barrel. After her collaring, she rebelled constantly against her various masters and suffered miserably from the punishments this provoked. She was finally sold to Baron Lum (a.k.a. Lum the Toothy) who put her on his tickle-rack for gentling. This proved less pleasant than a session in the Tickle Barrel, but it did transform Helveza into the loyal and affectionate property of Lum for the rest of their lives.
Since that time, very few goblin women have refused the mercy of the Barrel.
