Anyone keeping up with the insanity in golf?
Lexi Thompson was penalized four strokes (two for an improper ball placement, and two for signing a incorrect score card) on Sunday during the LPGAs first major of the year. She ended up losing in a playoff as a result of the penalty.
The insane thing is that she was approached on her round Sunday for an infraction that allegedly happened on SATURDAY as a result of an armchair judge that e-mailed the officials on Sunday. The email was sent almost 24 hours AFTER the infraction.

Golfers rallied around Thompson via Twitter, showing support for her and abhorrence for something that has become an all to familiar occurrence, TV viewers playing armchair judges. Bravo to these golfers!!!
It's ridiculous that people can call in and inform judges of infractions that they think they see. The same thing almost happened to Sergio Garcia when people thought that he made his ball move clearing debris around it after an errant tee shot on the 13th in the final round of The Masters.
It's time people cease and desist, you aren't a PGA or LPGA official, so stop trying to play one on TV.
