Though hip hop music is not somthing that came along in my youth I can understand his sentiment as you really dont see anyone starting a thread on how they hate metal or punk or simply rock music and there is a cultural double standard it seems.

.All sounds like rap to me Cosmo.....wait hang on....is this a trick question?.....dont tell me one of the tracks is from a long lost Stan Getz album right?
Headsnap said:There's no cultural double-standard. People hate punk music just as much as they hate rap music, in fact I know a lot of people who hate punk music just because it has associations with the "counter-culture", whatever the fuck that means, but who after listening to it for a while find out that they actually quite like it. Nobody hates rock music because it's impossible to hate.
I take your point Cosmo but any one who pretends that rap is not primarilly known for the celebration of violence, gangland culture, and the abuse of women is not being realistic.
anyone else reading this thread getting that sense of "deja vu"?
