Good NYC summer bars

Hey guys, I am looking for advice from any New Yorkers on a good bar/restaurant to go to in NYC that is open for lunch during the week. Type of food really doesn't matter just want nice atmosphere, good lunch crowd and a place that doesn't have a male female ratio of 100 to 1

You'd do well to narrow this a bit. So many blocks of the city have place after place after place that fit this description that it scarcely seems to make sense to pick one, unless you specify a neighborhood you're thinking of. Further question, if you're still checking on this thread: What exactly are you looking for? A place to eat? Hang out with a group of friends? Meet new friends? This could help me suggest places.

Well, meeting people in bars is hit or miss to begin with, but I would actually say that the best bars near Penn Stations include the ones in Penn Station, mainly Fridays (main concourse, 8th Avenue side) and Tracks (lower level, 7th Avenue side). Come outside and walk a few blocks down Seventh Avenue, and there's Mustang Sally, Mustang Harry, and the Triple Crown. But I still recommend the Village, including Caffe Vivaldi at 32 Jones St., a side street from Bleecker between 6th and 7th Avenues.
