Goosebumps books?

the girl ends up being this crazy fox-creature that haunts the boy's camp and the main character actually defeated the fox by tickling its stomach, having remembered what it said when it was a human. 😵

Actually mr expert, the main character remembered this and attempted it, but it transpired that the girl was lying about this.

😀😀

I don't seem to recall the little prize book thing lol. What was it about again?

I found this snippet online:

The short R.L. Stine book "Don't Make Me Laugh" was included
in bags of Doritos chips back in 1995 as an introduction to Stine's
"Goosebumps".

It was a short story about 2 friends who called themselves the
"Laugh Police" because they went around holding kids down and tickling
them to hysterics for fun.

Then space aliens come down and kidnapped the 2 boys, telling them
they were watching their "technique" to cause laughter. The alien king
of their planet was unable to laugh so had sent his subjects far and wide,
searching the galaxies for someone that could make him laugh. Anyhow
the 2 boys were brought before the king. They tried all their tickling techniques
on him but the king never cracked a smile.

The story ends with the two boys being taken to a "disintegrator"
because they had failed. The last line is "I didn't know whether to
laugh or cry."

This little book caused an uproar in our neighborhood as it
gave kids the idea to become "laugh police" and people were getting
tickled silly all over the place. I was a victim of 3 friends who got
me a few times, and it was wicked torture.

The book has disappeared; (I guess people threw them away
or something) and gradually the insane tickle-torture fad died down.
You're the first person I heard of that remembers it. And no, we
don't have our copy anymore either...the LAUGH POLICE got it!

Wow I used to be into these as a kid. I'm surprised nobody mentioned the Cuckoo Clock of Doom. There's a big scene in it where the protagonist gets younger and ends up in grade school. Two girls bully him by pinning his arms to the ground and tickle torturing him under his arms.

There is one with three kids trapped by a family of evil gnomes where the gnomes suggest tickling the kids. Nothing happens though.

Snail Shell

i remember that. i always figured the author was one of us because i noticed the same thing, when i was a little younger i always wanted to see the show to see if they put that it >.>

but yeah i've noticed that as well

ekdall, you are correct. it's a give yourself goosebumps called "tick tock, you're dead." see below on amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Tick-Tock-Youre-Yourself-Goosebumps/dp/0590566458

if i remember correctly, a guy invites the main characters into a room and says, "take off your shoes and socks" with a chuckle. then it's like a room with all feathers. chimpanzees come in and tickle them all over and "worst of all" on the soles of the feet. don't quote me either, but man that scene was very memorable for me.

I was gonna say that one, that was great.

I think there was a Goosebump one where they were in the woods and got caught by trees. The branches would come down and tickle them until they escaped. You're right; R.L. Stine used it a lot.

Wow I adored the goosebumps books when I was a kid, so much so I een got the glow in the dark calender (shhh don't tell anyone ok?) lol. Those were great little books. As far as the tickling in them I honestly can't recall, and I read like ALL of them lol. This has now turned into a nostalgic moment for me lol.

lol, I got the calender too 😛

i love goosebumps, I've seen like every episode they had of the tv show.. don't remember any tickling though, but i think i've only read like one of the books though lol

I remember the prize book that came in the cereal box was called "Don't make me laugh" I miss the goosebumps series, so many memories 🙂

YES! THIS!

This is what immediately came to my mind. I couldn't remember if it was from cereal or what, but I knew it was a mini book that came from... food. I read and re-read that sucker about 8 million times.

That was one of my fave tickle scenes from his books, lol. When I read that as a kid i was like "lucky!" 😀

Here's a few I can remember that I didn't see here:

Stay Out of the Basement: ff/m stomach - All the kids are friends. The boy scares the girls by pretending to be electrocuted or something, and they punish him appropriately.

Deep Trouble II: m/f stomach - The girl grabs at her brother in the water. He imagines she's an octopus, and he tickles her to make her let go.

Beast from the East: m/*, f/* - One of the beasts tickles these snakes so that they'll release the protagonists, then the girl remembers it later when this tree captures her brother, and she tickles it to make it drop him.

I read so many of those books when I was a kid and watched the tv series too but I only vaguely recall them. I'm downloading some right now.

I got the whole TV show on DVD and am working on collecting every piece R.L. Stine has ever released. 🙂
