In 1985, German group Nena (99 Luftballons / 99 Red Balloons) released their third CD in Europe. One of the big hits from it was "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann" (Direct translation - "Somehow, Somewhere, Sometime"). Here is the video, so you can hear how it sounded originally.

In 2003, Nena's lead singer (Nena Kerner) celebrated her 20 years in the music business by releasing a CD where she covered her 80s music. One of the songs was a cover of "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann", which was recorded as a duet with fellow 80s singer Kim Wilde ("Kids In America", "Keep Me Hanging On"). The song was retitled "Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime" and done in alternating German and English lyrics. This new version became a hit in numerous European countries.
