any gun owners on the forum? my wife and i are both gun owners, given both our professions, we have to be lol. here's our list:

mine: H&K USP .40C, both personal and duty weapon. i want to expand my collection and also get a Sig 229 and a Springfield XD .40 i'd also like to have a shotgun for the house and an AR style rifle. heather keeps her shotgun out in her patrol car, locked up of course.

hers: Sig Sauer P229 .40, duty weapon
Remington 870 shotgun, duty weapon
Taurus .44 Magnum (this was her dad's that he left for her after he passed away in 1999)

we also carry the Sig 229's at my jail for when we got outside the facility with inmates. i've shot it many times and i really like it. it's really comfortable and not very heavy. last week i went down to AZ to visit my dad for his birthday. he was very excited because he had recently bought his first gun and has since then received a bunch of ccw's (carry concealed weaopn card) and has taken a bunch of firearms classes. here's his list so far:

Glock model 23, .40 cal
Springfield XD, 9mm (really nice! i shot it and actually did pretty well. thinking of getting one but in .40 cal)
Walther PPK .32 cal (this is a little rinky dink p-shooter that was handed down in the family on my mom's side, or something like that. shot it and didn't like it at all. very klunky)
Recently just bought: Remington 870 shotgun

so anyone else got any toys??

All i have right now is a 22 magnum Taurus revolver and a Model 1100 Winchester 12 gauge.I had a Ruger 9mm and a few others, but they were stolen several years ago.:disgust:

I have a Walther .38 handgun and an original Ithica 16 gauge double barrel shotgun my father left me. I haven't fired either of them in 20 years. I know the shotgun is at least 80 years old and was a sweet gun to fire.

That Ithica sounds sweet,i love those old double barrel shotguns.😀

I'd like to get an M1911-A1 at some point, but it'd probably be a bit difficult to do while living in NYC. I think I could pull it off, but I haven't really gotten around to trying yet.

Nice call on the Sig 229 Falcon. It's my favorite handgun, hands down. I used to have a lot of guns but sold many when times got rough. Wish I still had them. 🙁

Currently I own a Sig 229, which I loaned to my brother when I moved away because he had nothing. I'm in the process of getting another and just letting him keep it. I also have a Sig 225, Sig 220ST Elite. Our tastes are pretty similar in that I'm also looking into getting a shottie for the home, and was leaning to the Remington 870P and an AR in an M4 variation. Down the line, I'd love to pick up a 1911 model.

I've owned:
Glock 19
Remington 870P
Mossberg 500
H&K USP 45
Colt Python .357 (still kicking self)
Bulgarian AK-47
MAK-90
Ruger P series .45

I only own one. It's just your basic hunting pistol. Haven't really hunted in a few years though. I was thinking about going again with my family next season.

cool. that's more than i thought i would get back on this. another rifle my dad has that i totally forgot about, is one that my grandfather brought back from germany during the war. he left it for my dad and my dad will leave it for me when the time comes. it's a german mauser rifle, complete with swastika stamped on the receiver. dad took it to an amoror and they said it's in working condition. it's a super cool rifle and i'm glad it stayed in the family. it's truely a living piece of history.

krazie, yeah i've been looking at the mossberg's as well, as far as shotguns go. i'd either go with that or a simple remington 870 police mag or something like that. i want it tricked out with a pistol grip and stuff like that though 😉 and the AR/M4 rifle that i want, i want to have that massively tricked out as well, swat style! lol!!!

I just finished my hunter safety course and in a few days I'm going to get an FID application. As a poor college student,All I can afford is a cheap .22 and maybe a mosin nagant.Thinking of an old No.4 Remington Rolling Block (I like the oldies).Eventually I hope to acquire an M1A Match, but they may be a problem if Obama wins.I also have a unreasonable love for the Colt SAA.

My father took the class with me and he will most likely only be able to buy a muzzle-loader due to a past offense.I'll probably practice on that a lot.love the hawkens too.

When my dad was on occupation duty in Japan after the war he picked up a Nambu pistol and an Arisaka infantry rifle.Coming home from San Francisco
to Kansas City by train early in 1946 they were both stolen.I'd love to have them.:ranty:

I'm a federally licensed collector. I collect and shoot all types of military surplus firearms from the Civil War to the present but I focus mainly on the guns of World War 1 and 2. I'd list my collection but it would take forever to read. These are some of my favorites from my collection though...

My hubby and I have several... I am not gonna list them all but a of TMF Shooter can speak for us... we have been to the range with him....and I dont want to scare everyone away.. hehehehehe.

I have a Glock 19, but I'd like to get
something less utilitarian one of these
days, Maybe a Starr revolver for an
antique, and a classic S&W 44.

cool! does anyone carry concealed? legally, that is? 😉

We have none in the house right now. But, my dad collected guns and did his own ammo. I've fired his 22, 44, 38, a browning 9 mil, a shotgun and the lugar he got from his dad on several occassions. My fav was the 22. It had good power to it while still being easy enough to handle. I much prefer the handguns to rifles and shotguns, though. All he has left at this point are the 9 mil and 38. I'd love to get the 9 mil off him. When we used to go shooting, I got pretty good with all of them. When we still did live trees, He'd often use the 44 to bring them down and then trim the trunks. Crazy!

I've just got a Smith and Wesson .38 Special, and I'm not even sure if it's a +P. I bought it because when I left the Marine Corps and started working in armored cars, I remembered how much I love to shoot.

The firearms instructor I first had made the classes really interesting, and where other people were complaining that revolvers are pea-shooters that couldn't take anyone down, he pointed out that a revolver will RARELY fail you, because there's nothing that can really go wrong with it, and you may have to clean it about twice a year. Some people live by the semi-autos because of the availability of more rounds, but if you're in a situation where you NEED more than six, you're probably already screwed, or you're just a horrible shot! 😛

Licensed to carry concealed, right here! Packing my baby the AR/M4, Glock 19, and a .357 Mag

I've never looked into getting a carry permit, just because I let the legal hoops I'd have to jump through intimidate me. Plus there's next to no crime here where I live now, so much less reason to carry now. If I did carry, though, it'd be my Taurus Model 66 .357 magnum with the Pachmeyer grips.

Next, there's the Remington Model 870 Express 12-gauge in the closet with the barrel trimmed to just above legal length. Again, standard load is for home defense, but rather than the artillery of buckshot, I went the other way, with trap/bird shot. Again, not going to penetrate walls in the home, but increasing the chance of hitting exponentially, because rather than several large pellets being fired, there are dozens of small ones in a larger spread. I'm a firm believer in the shotgun for home defense. As has been previously mentioned, the mere sound of a round being chambered in a pump-action shotgun gives an intruder a very good reason to reassess why he's in your home, and if he keeps coming after he knows you're toting a shotgun, well, that's called natural selection. They're clearly crazy as a shithouse rat and need to be put down. Plus, you'll be doing the law enforcement that responds a huge favor when you tell them that you were afraid for your life. Makes their paperwork ever so much easier.

There's also my Savage-Stevens lever-action 30-30 with scope, which I bought intending to take deer hunting and have yet to indulge in.

And finally, having saved the best for last, there's my SKS Sporter. My baby. The one that Bill & Hillary would love to get their pinko commie mitts on. My own personal Weapon of Mass Destruction. I bought this rifle over the counter before the BATF Nazis added it to the list of weapons you're a bad person for owning. It came with a detatchable 5-round magazine, to which I've added 4 lovely 30 round clips. It's 7.62 just like the famous AK-47, but much nicer-looking, with a thumbhole stock like a hunting rifle instead of the standard one. I *may* have a bipod for it, I can't remember. I'd intended to get a 75-round drum magazine for her, but those are hard to come by these days. She's sweet. Not exactly an ideal home-defense weapon, but ya just never know, do ya? Better to have too much than not enough, I always say.

There was an opportunity I passed up that I'll kick myself for the rest of my life over, back in my military days. I had a chance to legally purchase an M-60 machine-gun. I didn't go for it, even though I could've put it on the American Express at the time.

*sigh*

What would I DO with it? Heh. Defend my country from all enemies, foreign or domestic, baby. :woot:
