After more than three years of unemployment, I finally found a small job at the call center of Munich's Tourist Information!
It's a part of the new social security program which incited a lot of protest in Germany. The payment sucks (€ 1.25/$ 1.60 per hour), but I get that in addition to my unemployment support, tax free, and including full insurance. Work is limited to 30 hours a week and the contract is restricted to six months.
But much more important for me is the fact that I've got something to do, not just sitting around and wasting time. It gives me hope, maybe I can even find a full-time job there if I do well. And it's in my favorite field: tourism.
Hey, working feels so good!
