Sort of to piggy back off Alchemy, the nation wide trailers for Halloween II have started to run now for Aug 28 release. This is a older trailer but still fits

I dont care what people say, I did NOT like the 1st when comparing to the Orig, this is comparing the movie release and the screener release with the extra footage. Zombie made it a typical slasher\gore horror movie. The orig Michael was much more terrifying. You never saw him until halfway in, until that, it was just POV and heavy breathing in stalker fashion. One of the biggest things i hated in the first remake was how they just mocked him as they saw him in clean sight as a weird perv. Also, they gave a reason to why he was messed up, the whole family abuse story. In the first, they gave no reason, he was just in a clown suit, murdered his sister and was found by his father with a knife. No rhyme, no reason. Just some kid who murdered his sister and was seemingly Evil.

To me, the only good film Zombie ever made was House of 1,000 corpses.

Not looking forward to this at all. I have never enjoyed any of Zombie's movies and greatly disliked his remake of Halloween. I have no faith in a second attempt.

I am the biggest horror fan, but I can't stand the Halloween franchise. They never explain anything. Is Michael some sort of invincible demonic force? He gets fucking killed dozens of times. I didn't think Zombie left any doubt at the end of his remake, but somehow he's still living. If so, what the hell is the point of fighting him if you don't have a chance?

Still hoping for a Hellraiser remake. Go Clive!

I don't know whats worse, the fact that Hollywood can't come up with anything new, or the fact that when they remake stuff it's never as good as the original. I wonder if Zombie threw in any poinless rape scenes in this film like he did the last one.

I loved Devil's Rejects but that was more a 70s road movie than horror. House of 1000 corpses was like a long music video but the visuals were good. The Rob Zombie version of Halloween was great for the first part but I hate the movie Halloween so a remake wouldn't hold much interest and it didn't, at least for me.

You can say that about any horror movie icon, really. Of course, supernatural beings like Freddy Krueger are supposed to be hard as hell to kill. But then Jason Voorhees was once human too, before dying in part 4, only to be resurrected as the undead version in film #6. There's the old saying "suspension of disbelief", which I admit, gets rather ridiculous at times.

Michael Myers is my favorite of the horror icons, for the simple fact that you didn't know what the heck his deal was. He was just a seemingly normal 6 year old child that, for reasons unknown to everyone, decided to stick a knife in his sister several times one Halloween night. 15 years later, he breaks out of the institution and attempts to finish off his other sister. Every movie in which they've tried to give Myers some sort of "reason" for his killings has fallen really flat, at least in my opinion. Very simply, he was supposed to embody pure evil, which needs no reason.

another one?? i loved halloween back when i was a young teen, but after awhile.. blah.

Corpses was a twisted take on Alice in Wonderland, from the outfits to the characters. Rejects bored me. He made the characters too vulnerable.

Thats what makes Michael scary!

In 1 and 2. He was just a kid who for some unknown reason snapped and stabbed his sister to be discovered by his father. Spent years in the hospital and despite all doings, Dr. Loomis discovers he has no morality, he is pretty much evil. That is fear. You don't know why he stalks and kills his family, he just does. The remake does the shitty easy way of going "Oh, his family was mean to him except for his mother" which is fucking turning Halloween II into another Friday the 13th where he is inspired by his mother to kill again.

Granted as the series went on it got dulled since they put in the Samhain(yes it was in the first 2 but briefly touched) but they drew on it saying he was somehow powered by it and led into occult issues which led to the typical horror movie issues of creating an unkillable creature.

But what keeps him going? His rage? Boredom? Sexual tension? Who knows, point being his motives are unknown, just that he wishes to kill his family and all descendants of it and whomever gets in his way. He simply just is.
