HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY! I think I'll use this picture to illustrate this wonderful celebration:



Provocation? Absolutely. But come on girls... we love you!

In China, women all get half the day off today. My office is mostly empty at the moment; I am locked up with an American scholar and a nerdy guy who's speaking Cantonese on the phone. Gonna be off in one hour, my arms full of our boss' gifts to our SO's (also a local custom ^_^).

Happy Women's day again!

EDIT: I had to come back here: my colleague has told me a great quote from the sitcom (which I never watched) Married with Children. It's Al Bundy (excellent though typecast actor Ed O'Neil) who says it: "Do not try to understand women. Women understand women and they are horrible towards each other" 😛

You're missing the point. I don't care if Golding is Hannibal Lecter himself, I was after how Tenebrae's fiancee balanced it cleverly like the way it was posted in this thread. The meme is amusing. Nothing more!

I didn't offer an opinion as to the value of the post. I pointed out that the bulk of a widely-circulated meme was actually authored by someone else. Artists, writers, musicians, etc. should get proper credit for what they create. Two very different people wrote those words, and ignoring that isn't fair to one of them. Whether it's amusing isn't at issue.
