Sadly, she hasn't drawn subsequent gigs worthy of her true talent. Misty/Erica deserves more mainstream visibility, and a crack at better roles, but she may be handicapped by a lengthy track record of shoestring-budget softcore videos. Hollywood, evidently, has more tolerance for losers like Lindsay Lohan (drugs, felonies, etc.) than a woman whose less ostentatious celebrity has been locked down in the underground. I do remember that Bill Hellfire described Misty as "incredibly ticklish" (see DINNER FOR TWO). And, Oddjob, I've also been out of touch with the cottage industry...E.I. Cinema's videos have seriously declined ever since Misty resigned from the mini-company.

I agree with what you are saying. ESPECIALLY after Joe Millionare had a fetish performer on, and Survivor had a porn performer at one point (and a gay one at that). Meanwhile, another fetish performer ran for congress - dId she win? I'm not sure.....I don't recall her name but she did pro wrestling for a while, too; Nothing against Jesse the Ventura ( military vet with an all-around focus and dedication to getting any job done) but I'm still surprised that voters took "just a wrestler" seriously and made him governor. Oliver North helped get weapons to an enemy state, turned Saddam Huessein into our enemy when he was an ally - and Ollie now has his own tv show. Hollywood and the public both would have held that against him it would seem. There's this odd selectivity with the pubic.

On the other hand, too many folks in the industry put peoples' past in front of what they could actually do when given the opportunity. IF the public is going to tear them apart or reject them - and they certainly will in some cases (but not others. Again, the North /Ventura/Survivor examples, but there are many others. What's up with that ????? ) - GIVE the public that opportunity. Or, another way...... if the performer is willing to face that risk, let them take that risk of rejection for their past, or be given the chance at mass adoration. I like that Tracy Lords has a new career, but find it odd that Tonya Harding seems to be more of an outcast now than many others out there. Playboy used to be a career killer; now it's a stepping stone to become a million-dollar spokes model, reality tv or Dancing with the Stars. Now stars release their onw sex tapes to help their careers! There just doesn't seem to be much of a pattern. The lack of success for Misty is a headscratcher.

To be fair, Lindsey Lohan and other folks in her situation ( Amy Winehouse, until recently Mickey Rourke and Robert Downey Jr., on and on ) also have true talent, but haven't really had a hit in a while and are more in the public eye currently for screwing up.

Thanks for your very heartfelt message regarding Misty Mundae; an indie producer should just engage the actress for a straight role. Granted, she's been linked to sexplitation but Misty is--undeniably--an exceptional actress. Reminds me of Michelle Bauer, aka Pia snow, a dear friend; her professional indulgences included a tenure as a bondage sovereign (TIED AND TICKLED I) and a bit of porno (a couple are classics, i.e. BAD GIRLS and CAFE FLESH). But she's a wonderful comedienne (comic timing is sharp, sample her performance in HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS; she could have slummed it and collected a paycheck but Michelle appended her character with a manic panache). Naturally, the actress was relegated to B-quickies and locked out of prime time. A pity, what with starlets cast in series who are obliged to do nothing more than ooze sex appeal. Thanks so much for your response to THE HITCHHIKER, One brief footnote...

Lily recounts that "While shooting THE HITCHHIKER, the outdoor heat was blistering but I never noticed. The actor playing my tormentor was, apparently, really drawn into the fetish. Even worse, the director never yelled 'Cut!' Undiluted agony. This was the 'tenderization' stage in a vignette where I'm prepared as the main course at a barbecue: tenderized, seasoned, marinated, oiled-up, cooked. One scene was screwed-up as a result of technical gaffes. Sweat and cooking oil cascaded into my navel, which was gently heated. The actor stirred a Q-tip in my very ticklish navel which drove me to near-madness; then he tasted me, his tongue swirling into my deep navel's abyss. Then my bellybutton was capped with a grape. More heating, more tasting. I was screaming...very loudly. No wonder this video was shot in a very wooded environment, this rustic area is insulated from the police. That's wild about Ashley Rhey. I will have to re-watch Bikini-Drive In and check out Conrad Brooks . We worked together breifly at a chocolate shop (I was in Half Price Books one day and found her Benchwarmer card by coincidence!) and I have since seen her shows and apearances here in the DFW area over the past few years. How odd that one of the indies I really loved back in the early 90s - "And God Spoke" - featured Ashley and we end up working together outside the industry, just by fate.

Did you ever see her video series Daisy Power? Friend her on Facebook - I'm sure she'd love to hear from you.

I hope by 2011 to have my own pro-sumer HD camera (like what they are using in the stills of the shoot) . Ashley has been wanting me to shoot some of her stuff and I would love to! besides, without one I am missing out on way too many potential jobs.
