Have you ever wondered why some people absolutely hate being tickled...

...while others of us love it? It's interesting to me that something I think is so much fun and feels quite pleasurable is an absolute torture for others. Do they feel tickling differently? Is it an an emotional reaction? Some people seem to hate being tickled cause someone abused them with it (older siblings, parent, etc.) but some people who never had a real negative experience with being tickled just hate it and will get furious if you tickle them...

I wonder what causes different people to respond so differently to the same thing. Do you?

Yeah it does make one wonder why so many seem to not like or seem not even to love being tickled-it does make you wonder. Yeah lots of times it is because someone was either tickle or sexually abused as a child or younger adolescent -tickling could have been a very negative and very unpleasant and scary and not a enjoyable experience that one might have grew to dislike and hate. That could be a reason. It also could be many don't like the emotional vulnerability that goes along with being tickled, especially being at one's tickle mercy for the first time--especially whether being unrestrained or especially being restrained while being playfully tickled. These could be some factors.

It could be many things and many factors, just varies each person is individual and has different reasons why or why not he or she likes or does not like or does not love or loves being tickled.

to be completely honest - no, I've never wondered why some people love and some hate tickling. I have tried fo figure out why I love it, but didn't even find an answer to that question.
The basic answer to your question - I guess - is simply, that people are different. Some like sports, others hate it or find it boring, some love hardrock, others can't listen to it without getting a nervous breakdown, but they love opera instead, which some others again can't stand. Some people get turned on by pain, others would freak out just thinking about it - people are different and isn't it that variaty that makes live so interesting? 😉
