Heavy Music Scene

I have a plethora of bands that I listen to ranging in the vast realm of metal, or the better-termed 'heavy music' scene, since there are so many genres now. When I speak of these genres I refer to the credible ones; the ones with talent, not nu-metal, or anything hip-hop or pop related.

I was wondering if anyone on the board has some esoteric metal knowledge and could help me discover some new talent. Perhaps its a local band that you know. Any news would help me find some new music.

My current favorites include: The Red Chord, Into The Moat, Behemoth, Into Eternity, As I Lay Dying, Between The Buried And Me, The Black Dahlia Murder, Arsis, Anata and Reflux.

New Talent? Dont Make Me Laugh!

Fuck new talent! They all sound the same with their gruff vocals and death metal guitars. You want quality metal ya gotta go to the 80s, Judas Priest (new CD tuesday,Angel Of Retribution!),Iron Maiden,Dio,Motorhead,Anthrax,King Diamond,Manowar,etc. They are the ones with talent! If you MUST have a new metal band try Lacuna Coil. I saw them open for Anthrax and they were very good. Cute singer too!

There's a ton of musical genius here. Try current/former DJs like SeanMan, dskodj, Frankie (featherfingers)...Dtrell is another great source and HUGE music freak.
