Greetings pholks!
It's been awhile, and my online activity is about 1/100th of what it used to be. Changes in life, changes in outlook and perspective and finally climbing out of a two and a half year "funk" that damn near destroyed me have simply altered where the internet and forums and such fit into my life. I'm still around, though, and still connected to various parts of the community and the larger kink world. I guess it's just become more localized.
Anyway, it's been an interesting 2010 so far, and this seems to be the year where The Eternal Bachelor finally settles down. And, to be honest, I could not be happier. 😀
Many of you know that my babygirl Shywild and I have been quite the item for some time. She's everything I've ever wanted in a partner/lover/friend/submissive and anything else you could imagine. We'd planned my move to Pittsburgh on a permanent basis some time ago and knew that we'd be together forever.
I haven't spoken of much in my personal life of late, partially because I've been so damned busy it isn't funny, and partially due to the fact that I'm just not as "into" the internet and such as I once was. However, there is a lot to catch up on with the people I do still have a community connection with.
We've been engaged for some time now, and I guess it's time for our friends to know that. And speaking of big changes...a funny thing happened to me on my way to the Keystone State....
A little while after realizing we were going to be together forever and while I was getting things ready for my move...
...we found out that there's going to be an addition to our little dynamic here!!
That's right, kids! We're having a baby! We wanted to wait until we settled down and knew everything was OK before saying too much...but many tests and Dr.'s appointments have come and gone and in January we're going to have a baby boy!
Shy's doing very well, we're both planning out as much as we can and we'll keep everyone posted as things progress. Funny how life goes, huh? The little guy does not have a name yet, but is currently and affectionately called "Lump". We got a second series of ultrasounds, and the baby is very active and all appears to be healthy for both baby and Mommy.
I'm surprisingly happy about this. Many of you know I went through the tragedy of losing my son 14 years ago, and I'm 42 and not exactly a spring chicken to be starting a family. But...this has quickly become a "second chance" of sorts. While nothing will replace the loss, I don't even really think of it in those terms like I feared I might. Sure, there are challenges to becoming an "older" father, but the benefits of maturity, experience and a lot of distance between now and a Fucked-Up Past are real positives.
