Help with FTPs

For those of us who have never dealt with FTP servers, how exactly do we get onto these sites. Specifically I was looking at the one for
"tica.xitami.net". I am assuming that there must be something that I have to download in order to be able to log in. So my question basically is what are they, and how do we get in?

First of all, with Tica's server: you have to email Tica a list of the F/M tickling clips you have, then you will get a relpy as to which they want. Then you email Tica the desired clips and Tica will give you a password to the server. Then you can download. See the threads Tica has posted for complete details.

And you may need an FTP program to download but first see if you can get a password to log on to the server in the first place. As I said, check Tica's threads.
