Help with highlighting words in a post

When i want to highlight a word or phrase and click on the B,i get this in the posting box instead of the window opening.It was working fine all day,anybody know what is causing this?

Hmm ... let me see if I have this. You want to make a word(s) bold when posting and highlight the word, clicking the "B," but instead of the word surrounded by

[B]word[/B]

you get just a

[B]

? I am not seeing that (Highlighting a word here and clicking B results in the word being surrounded by the correct brackets here). Did I get your problem wrong (For instance, I bolded "problem" by highlighting and hitting B)?

The second one HDS. i dont know if you can see this example,that is what appears in the posting box.When i click on the B,instead of retyping the word in a small window above the box then clicking select all and ok,the box to type the word or phrase into does not appear.I hope this tells you what you need to know.

There are two different modes for boldface italics color and so on.

One is Guided Mode, which gives you a little script box window to type in and puts both [the code for it] before and [/the code for it] after.

The other is Enhanced Mode, which just puts [the code for it] in the main editing window and waits for you to hit B or I again.

You are used to Guided Mode and somehow switched yourself into Enhanced Mode. You can select which mode you want by clicking in the appropriate little circle just above the left side top of the main editing window.

EDIT: Actually, Milagros might be right. And, as I now see, he is, so ignore me. 😀 I wonder how I too switched modes, as I had been in Guided Mode for as long as I can remember.
