I really need help. I love to tickle girls feet, but I never have to nerve to ask a girl. The last time I tickled a girls feet was high school and that was six years ago. Now I work with a very pretty girl who loves to wears sandals or open toed shoes to work. Her feet are gorgeous. From time to time she will go barefoot. When we have project together she will cross her legs with her feet close to me and it seems that she is wiggling her toes and foot at me. Am I reading the signals correctly? Help!!!!!

Bill

The key word is, unfortunately, "work." In your place of employment, the penalty for misreading the signals can be being cited for sexual harrassment, with all of the unpleasant consequences that may follow, including unemployment. Any _unwelcome_ touching at work, most certainly including a finger along her foot, can cause you to be brought up on charges of sexual harrassment.

So I guess I have not told you how to read the signals, but just noted that the penalty for a wrong reading at work can be very high.

saddly milagros is right

don't mess around at work. if you like her, and are not just fascinated with her feet, ask her out, then tickle away to your hearts content.

Gotta go with Steve on this one. Messing around (however innocent it may seem) at work can land you in a heap of trouble. Let the lady know you like her and see what happens. Good luck!

PS - Welcome to the gang!

i have a question though. i know a lot of us condemn trying to tickle people (male or females) at work, but what if you already have a comfortable relationship with the person you are trying to tickle? i have tickled a few co-workers at work, but i already known them for a while. i know them well enough, so i attempt to tickle them. not full blown torturous tickling (oh, i wish i could though), but a gentle poke, or a stroke along the bottoms of their feet. the usual response is of course laughter, but we then end up joking about it. am i in the wrong still? i would never tickle someone until we both are on a comfortable level of friendship with each other...

Yep

Gotta go with Prime on this one...maybe it's because I'm young and stupid, but I have no problem tickling people on the job, around school, wherever, if the mood strikes. If I'm working with them I usually have at least a working relationship with them, and that's enough for casual flirting (yeah, being a flirt helps make tickling look more innocent too, not that most people think of it as anything but innocent in the first place). Besides, what's the worst that could happen? I suppose you could get fired, which I guess is a lot worse if you actually have a career and not just a job, but...hell, I'm not gonna miss out on the fun stuff just cause I'm afraid of the possible consequences. This attitude, by the way, is why I am not afraid of dying. 🙂

Even if your co-worker doesen't object, your boss probably will. You're there to WORK. Ask her out, and then play on your own time.

no prime you are not alone

i will now contradict what i said before😱
i can't remember a job that i've had, that i didn't tickle a lady co-worker or 2, or 3.😀
yes i have tickled women i worked with. but it was long after i established myself. but that was also before political correctness, and sexual harrassment b.s.:sowrong:
i'll still stick with my original advise, take the lady out, and tickle her, not on the job. office politics are different from floor nursing.

Well...

I find that folks who think sexual harassment is b.s. have never been sexually harassed.

If she wants something to happen and she's tired of waiting, she'll probably ask you out. But not on work time. Besides, even if you two enjoyed it, someone else who happened by may feel uncomfortable.

Just my 2 cents.

Political correctness is often taken way too far. People have been fired for telling jokes even minor ones. Like the guy who was fired and sued for telling a joke he heard on Signfeld. Someone overheard the joke and complained under the guise of sexual harassment. I think this is great injustice to people who are really sexually harassed.

If you touch a lady's foot at work and she tells you don't do that and you never do it again that is not sexual harassment. If continue to tickle her after she told you not to then yes that would be sexual harassment. Just remember in the circles of political correctness YES means NO equals Rape. So it is tickle at your own risk.

While I agree with Novus about harassment cases often being taken too far, I still feel that this is not an activity that belongs at work. Have I ever done this myself or had it done to me? Yes to both. In each case it was with people I knew/who knew me well enough to know it was okay. But, we're just talking a quick poke in the side on your way past. I wouldn't even do that/accept it if I didn't know the person.

If this gal is interested and has no problem with something simple like that, cool. But, work is still not the place to find out. As Strel said, you're being paid to work. Ask the gal to dinner and tickle her senseless if you BOTH want that. But, don't initiate that in the workplace. It could blow up in your face.
