Some of you won't know what this is about. SOME of you are dying to find this. Lone Star Comics is auctioning the famous 1942 Daredevil comic with the tickling cover (the tickling activity does NOT appear in the story. It was just created for the cover to sell the comic).

These are rare, even in poor condition. And the artwork rocks!

"Extra! Play slap the jap!"

Ahh, the whimsical 1940's.

On the one hand this is cool...on the other hand I'm offended because the cover is telling people to slap me lol.

That being said I'm genuinely curious. Was there another hero named Daredevil in the Golden Age? What was his story? What company did he belong too? Why am I asking these questions and not just enjoying the damn cover lol?

Well, at least they portrayed you in a flatteringly realistic way.

This is the original Daredevil from the WWII era. He fell into disuse during the comicbook witchhunts of the 1950's and in the 60's Marvel created their own new Daredevil. The original Daredevil has since fallen into the realm of the free domain and sometimes shows up in Erik Larsens "Savage Dragon" comic from Image.

If you like the classic comic finds, check out some of the old covers for Tales from the Crypt. I distinctly remember some tickling covers. 🙂

Pics or it didn't happen!

It happened. Buy Google off of Ebay, install, then run.

In the first part of DC's "Kingdom Come" 'The" Daredevil also makes a tiny camo apperance in the background when The Parasite is attacked by Magog in the wheatfield.

Oh, yeah - spoilers.

Tempting to go into a bidding war to get this baby!
Would look good in a frame on my future dungeon wall! 😀

Woooooo! I WIN! This baby is mine! 😀
Thanks for the tip Oddjob 🙂

Time to get nice frame!

NICE JOB CAVUM!
I was wondering if someone from the TMF was going to bid... or win! I think it has found the perfect home (after mine :upsidedow)

I will give it a good home and take good care of it 🙂
I'll post some pictures when I get it 😀

I'm honestly, truly proud of you (which I admit sounds kind of funny, I know...).

I was bidding on it at one point but am thrilled that you won and not someone esle. Between winning this, your video work, and your tv appearance you are blazing quite a trail in the kink world and the subculture of tickling!

Great job, mon. I remember tracking down a vintage comics website a few years ago whose author claimed to have this particular comic and promised to post scans of the issue, but never did. I E-mailed him asking about it, and he was kind enough to rectify that mistake.

Also also wik, a Google search turned up nothing vis-a-vis Tales from the Crypt tickling covers. If anyone has any links, I'd like to see them.

Great cover! My only complaint is... why isn't she wearing stockings? For the bajillionth time... they make her feet more ticklish!

She must be one of those drawings whose feet aren't more ticklish in stockings.

I know those Crypt tickling covers are somewhere because they released a book at one point that was "all about" Tales from the Crypt (and various horror) and there was a section in it that purely contained pictures of the covers. That's where I saw at least two of them.

Edit: Perhaps it contained all of their titles of horror? That image above does look familiar. I thought there was one more...
