Darryl Hall sang on Robert Fripp's 1979 album, Exposure, so he's not entirely on my own shitlist!

I'm listening to an old record from the 1950's (an early stereo record) which I found today at a thrift shop (WHY do they call them thrift shops when it's so easy to blow scads of money there?:happy🙂. It's called Rides, Rapes and Rescues. It's an album of music you might have heard the pit orchestra play had you been watching a silent-era movie in the early 20th century. The somewhat disturbing title is taken from musicians' slang of the day; a musician applying for work in a movie house might be asked how well he knows his "rides, rapes and rescues", i.e. music appropriate to each particular scene in a typical silent movie.

(Geez, why can't I just stick to Coldplay? 🙂 )
 
As an audiophile, you should checkout the newly added playlist feature. I'm listening to "Up All Night by Hinder" that you can listen to on my profile. Seems appropriate all things considering...

Apparently, Cornell has a new album coming out(already out?) that's being produced by Timbaland. Should be interesting.



Meanwhile, at the moment, I had a hankering to hear "No One's Leaving", by Jane's Addiction.

I've been on Alice coopers myspace and been diggin his "Along came a spider " with slash shredding in the hallways of a psychoward as Alice is strangling a receptionist to "Vengence is mine" and then performing an autopsy by sawing off the limbs of a woman with a bone saw while singing a great ballad called "killed by love "
I don't know where I was over the summer or how I missed this Alice goodie.
 
I'm using a Lorena McKennitt CD as background music to drown out the strange noises being made by one of our more unusual neighbours 😛
 
Got a huge playlist going on at the moment, RnB,Dance,HipHop,Retro Dance ( Yeah that is cool )
 
As of right now it's the final boss theme from Sonic 3, because I'm such an insufferable geek.
 
I'm listening to a WFMU pledge program in which Yo La Tengo will play your request if you pledge US$100.00 or more (if you miss it, they'll probably put it onto their MP3 archive page. It's Pseu Braun's show for 13-March-09). Right now they're murdering the Beatles' "Ticket to Ride".
