Hey,

Well, I'm new here so I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to say hi to everyone and introduce myself. I'm Mike....from Canmore. About me....OK, let's see. I'm an aviation and a Star Trek: TNG buff......I think that Sex and the City was the absolute bestest show in the whole wide world (Evan Handler was the hidden star of that show)....but M*A*S*H comes in a close second with Seinfeld and the Simpsons getting an honorable mention. Musically, I guess you could say I like Green Day, Nirvana, Offspring, Marilyn Manson, Eminem, Michael Jackson, and Madonna. I'm waiting for the day when Marilyn Manson and Jacko do a duet.... I know all of the words to the Vincent Price interlude in Thriller by heart. That, and I know all of the words to Harvey Danger's flagpole sitta by heart too -- those are the best lyrics EVER (but I'm not cynical). In my spare time, I can be found listening to the Hip while talking to Americans 22 minutes of every hour....

Yes, it was truly a sad, sad day in Tequilaville when John Morgan passed away. I feel vindicated that somebody actually got all those references rather quickly. That's his name! I knew it was John, but I couldn't remember his last name. You are right though, he stands among the best of Canadian comedy. Rick Mercier is another one too. Heck, everyone on RCAF and 22 minutes was funny. "I am Marg, Princess Warrior!". "Talking to Americans!". Classics.

Yup.....he past away last month. First John Candy, then John Morgan. Next thing you know it'll be Jim Carey. Why oh why couldn't it have been Luba Goy? Her immitation of Shiela Copps is so annoying. And I've always wondered.....who in their right mind names their daughter Luba? Life must of been tough on the playground for her growing up....

Hi, Tequila, and welcome 🙂 I also like ST:TNG, M*A*S*H, and Seinfeld quite a bit; I'm glad to see that others appreciate quality (now almost "classic") TV.

I like ST:TNG too. The other ST I really like is DS9. That was probobly my favourite once it started becoming more story driven and less episodic. M*A*S*H was just slightly before my time (though the theme song still sticks with me!). It was on when I was a kid but I lacked the ability to truly understand and appreciate it. I never liked Seinfeld all that much.

Gotta agree with you. I never could stand Luba. The sad part is that ALL of her impersonations sounded exactly the same. Basically Luba with a stupid wig on.

Dude! You have to get Prime and start watching it. I didn't start watching M*A*S*H with any regularity untill my university days (in ruruns)....there's something timeless about that show. Hockeye, Radar, HotLips....it can make a statement, hit you in the gut, and make you laugh all at the same time, but I digress....

I'll take a look into it. I haven't been watching TV with much regularity, other than a couple shows here and there. I've got nothing beyond basic cable. Perhaps once this university year is over I'll have more time to watch. Maybe it will show on other channels too - ones that I currently have.
