Has anybody else caught this show (it runs on PBS, I'm not sure it's on a fixed schedule)? I've seen a few episodes of it lately, and there was some pretty cool stuff shown in them. It's much better than most of the junk the "History" Channel airs.
I've never caught it but I'll be looking for it. Many thanks for the heads up Dr. The History Channel..what a shame. A few shows worth watching but overall? Ugh. It could be so much more.
The best documentaries can be found on PBS. The history programming on The History Channel is more like fast food-it never gets too deep, it never shows advanced insight, it dumbs down programming for adults who swallow information as children do. At best, it kills time when there's nothing else on. I watched the other day during my job as Mr. Mom-an hours long bio on Jefferson-that worked well during an afternoon filled with thunderstorms and poopy diapers and unfinished formula bottles.
In depth programming can be found on PBS. As always. 'History Detectives' earns high grades.
I love the "History Detectives", these guys are more interested in finding the origins and historical significance of an object, rather than the pawn shop dollar value. Plus, Elyse Luray is hot:
