I recently started on a thread on this topic but this seems like a good place to post a vid on it.This video shows pics detailing the aftermath of the worst accident in mankind's history.The radiation given off by the Chernobyl accident was said to have spread as far as the eastern part of North America.I will warn you,the vid does have a few disturbing images and includes a very fitting song by Evanescence.What gets me the most in reading about this are the eerie photo's of the abandoned town of Pripyat.I have always been intrigued by scary places and this town truly appears to be a dead ,ghost city.

Like, he knew what fate awaited him. That was why he was so intense - getting things said before he transitioned to spiritual. Those were incredibly turbulent times that we took for granted. Matin Luther King, JFK, RFK - that's a lot of assassinations within a decade.

During WW II Howard Hughes proposed building a fleet of giant cargo planes made almost entirely of wood due to the shortage of metals.Hughes poured millions of dollars from his personal fortune into the project,which he called the Hercules.Only one was completed,and critics dubbed the plane the spruce goose,a name that Hughes hated.

The Hercules was airborne only once,with Hughes at the controls and the flight lasted only a few minutes.The Hercules was bigger then a 747,and the rotary engines of the time were inadequate for such a large plane.Hughes spent several million dollars more to preserve the Hercules over the course of his life and before he went into total seclusion would sometimes give personal tours of the plane to select friends.I could not find any footage of the plane in flight but its a fascinating chapter in the history of aviation.

The Hercules can be seen at the EverGreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville Oregon.
