Yeah, that was pretty cheesy, Aqua. We can only hope the film will do it more justice 😀 Star Wars and HHGTG in the same summer? WOO HOO! 😀

......please make sure you know at least SOMETHING about a subject before you start to post. None of you seem to be aware of the BBC radio version of the book, which is widely acclaimed as one of the great acheavements of radio broadcasting IN THE WORLD.

The BBC TV series is also outstanding. What chance do any of you think this series would have had in the states? as a new idea. Look at the crap you guys were watching at the time.

For me, its up there with Concord as a Great British success story. What?....the French?....they designed the menus.

whoa there red 😉 I'm well aware of the BBC radio series, unfortunately its never been available here in Canada to my knowledge. I'd love to get my hands on it if I could. I saw the mini series years ago, I likened it to a cheap version of Dr. Who at the time. After reading the books, seeing that was a great disappointment, but it did have its moments. Slartibartfast will always stick out in my mind 😀 😀 😀

ive seen the BBC mini-series Red 🙂 it honestly didnt do it justice, it was pretty corny, poor acting and they just didnt capture the hilarity of all Douglas Adams' wit. not to mention editing large parts of the story

ditto the radio series just wasnt as funny as reading the books

Yep.........

.....ok, fair comment the TV version was not that good. "Down market Dr Who", very good!! I like that! hardly seems possible does it? but its true.

But if you have not heard the BBC radio version I urge you to get hold of it.
