After some searching around, I discovered that most of all the classics that I used to watch are all being remade. What do you think of this?

"Friday the 13th" comes out on Feb 13, 2009 (on a Friday the 13th)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0758746/

"A Nightmare on Elm Street" is unknown but IMDB sets it for 2010
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1179056/

"Child's Play" is unknown but IMDB sets it for 2009
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1134807/

"Clive Barker's Hellraiser" comes out on Jan 9, 2009
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0887261/

"TROLL" is unknown but IMDB sets it for 2009
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1107849/

Not a remake but it is a sequel, "Phantasm V" is due for 2009
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054679/

Hmm. Me no rickey! 🙁

I wish they(Hollywood) would concentrate on new horror concepts, rather than rehashing the old ones. We need another Cronenberg to come along and upset the old concepts with some fresh ideas.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse after the godawful Wicker Man remake...

Seriously, what kind of ego does it take for someone to say "Well, this classic and well loved film is good...BUT I CAN MAKE IT BETTER!"

Haha, dunno what's more scary to them...the movies themselves, or the act of creating an entirely new idea for one. xD

Yeah, I am aware of most of these. I have also heard Evil Dead, I Spit On Your Grave, Last House On the Left, Don't Look Now.

Most will flop. Friday the 13th has the potential to be good. If it can take Jason back to his roots then it can good. The last few movies went so far off into left field they were a joke.

F all these remakes. I'm sick of it. The film industry, like their music counterparts are dead. New ideas get ground under while awful, tacky ones get pushed.

Remakes. Rap. What's next? Remakes of rap songs from... oh...

Let's just wipe Hollywood off the map.

The only one that appeals to me is the Phantasm sequel just because it isn't a remake. If they do a good job with it I have no problems with a sequel. I don't really need to see any more remakes though. That's why I gave up on Nintendo as a game system. The majority of games available are remakes of the SNES golden era.

Same if the Phantasm aka The Never Dead (in Australia) sequel is done right then it could be decent and worth wild. It's been something that i have want to see made. I just wonder if Angus Scrimm is supposed to be back as the Tall Man and from checking The Internet Movie Database website i see that he is supposed to be and so is Reggie Bannister who played Reggie and so is A. Michael Baldwin who played Michael ''Mike'' Pearson

Phantasm V (2009) (in production) .... The Tall Man

Phantasm V (2009) (in production) .... Reggie

Phantasm V (2009) (in production) .... Mike Pearson

The only one that won't be back from checking The Internet Movie Database for the main characters is Bill Thornbury who played Jody Pearson. I own all of the Phantasm movies  (Parts 1 and 2 and 3) I enjoy them. Even if Phantasm V was a straight to dvd release and no theaters i would still check it out :super_hap

And for the rest of that list the other movies could get by with a ''R'' rating i'm sure expect for Child's Play

But Clive Barker's remake of ''Hellraiser'' would be a watered - down ''R'' rating and with what the MPAA would allow since that movie even when it first was released was shocking and pushed the limits because of how bloody and chalked full it was the whole Hellraiser series is like that

But all in all horror movie remakes are old news some new and great fresh horror movie idea's is what horror needs not re-hash after re-hash of a remake and horror movie classics remakes
