The nurse or technician that was to administer a stress test to me began putting several electrodes on my chest, belly and ribcage. I asked what she does when she encounters a ticklish patient. She said it happens and that she lets them laugh and wriggle as she proceeds. She asked if I were ticklish. I said, "Yes, but I can handle it." Then I asked, "How about you?" The middle-aged woman said she was very ticklish when she was younger but she wasn't any longer. I said "You probably still but are in denial or you haven't been tickled in a while". She said that I was right and that it had been a long time since she had been tickled, and "Perhaps you could tickle me when we're through." I couldn't believe my ears! When I asked her she said her most ticklish spot was under her arms. When we were through with the stress test and its aftermath I said, "OK." Then I turned her around so she faced away from me. My plan was to tickle her waist. As my hands approached she began giggling. Then when I began tickling her waist she began laughing and wriggling. After several seconds, I stopped and she said that she began laughing even before I started and that my tickling her made her laugh even harder. So I said, "See? You're still young inside." She agreed. In hindsight I wished I had done it a second time on her ribs and then, the grand finale, under her arms. But after all, we were behind a curtain in anotherwise open room with the door open. Though it wasn't mentioned, I didn't want her to get in trouble for being "unprofessional". I should have done steps 2 & 3 anyway. She was great, said I was very kind (!) and we both left happy.
