I was just e-mailing friends on my Hotmail account, and before I sent one of my e-mails, I got a message that said "We sometimes ask you to enter characters to prove you're a person. Please enter the following letters and numbers". After I did, I was able to send my e-mail to my friend.

Has anyone else had this happen? I use my Hotmail account all the time, and this is the first experience I've had such as this.

To view this response, please enter the following characters: ┴ ~ ô À

I've encountered this security measure at various websites, and sometimes it bugs me. I'm always concerned with the fact that maybe the code is case-sensitive, or that some of the characters are ambiguous (i.e. the 'b' looks like a '6'), and don't even get me started with the whole 'O' versus zero thing.

i've also seen a few things like this mitch. Still, if you have questions, best to contact Yahoo or Hotmail directly.

Thanks, cos. This is the first time I've encountered it. I'll see if it happens the next time I email someone on hotmail. If so, I will contact them.
