The Eagle has landed. July 20 1969. Neil Armstrong becomes the first man to walk on the Moon. Worldwide an estimated 500 to 600 million people watched the landing, at that time the largest TV audience in history for a single event.

Remember it well. Hoped it was the start of something bigger, but politics let it fizzle down.

I wish I had been alive to see it broadcasted live on television. A historic and momentous occasion for NASA, the USA, and the human race! 😀

It angers me that people believed this never happened. Astronauts died contributing to this nation's space program. Their heroes and to deny their contributions to America is to basically spit on their graves.
