It's been such a strange season. If you had told me before the season that Pittsburgh would lose once each to the Chiefs, Raiders and Browns, there's no way I would have believed it. It will take a miracle for them to get back into the playoffs now.

that comes with the territory unfortunately. There are those out there that hate winning teams no matter the sport
What does surprise me is how completely dependent the Steelers defense is on 1 player. Since Polamalu has been out that defense is mediocre at best. He covered up most of the other players mistakes. normally only a QB going down screws the season completely.
I have never seen a defense completely built around one player like Pitt has done with him.

tough season for them, to be sure...when healthy, they'll be back, and as much as I would love to gloat, the Boys aren't thru december yet, so let's not get ahead of ourselves
If you made me choose between the Steelers and the buzzards.....oh I mean Ravens, I'll choose the Steelers every time!

I wish I had Tivo.....to tape the look on Rothlisberger's face when he realized he was going to lose to the Browns. I don't think he's ever hit the ground as much as he did Thurs night--our defense was on him like an old coat!
That's right folks, we suck asphalt!! But we've been having a lot of fun at Steelers' fans expense this week! Might not happen again for another 6-7 years, but who's counting????
I'll have to keep an eye on Mangini; I was prepared to put him on a bus a couple of months ago. But he might end up being the next Belechick and you know what happened when we kicked him out too soon............

True... but we beat the Bucs twice, and for a little while, they were better than the Browns.

Heh...that's funny. What makes it funny is the Clowns beat the Steelers for the first time in 6YEARS, and now they act like they won the Super Bowl. I guess when you have a losing streak that pathetic against another team, it's the closest thing they'll ever get to a Super Bowl. Or even the playoffs for that matter.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
I don't know what I'm enjoying more right now.....the fact that the Steelers lost and the dejected looks on their poor widdle faces as their playoff dreams dissapate into thin air, or you firing off at something so silly.

In all seriousness, the Steelers have been my team since the dawn of me liking and following pro football. Terry Bradshaw, Ben Roethlisberger? Oh YEAH! David Woodley, Mike Tomczak, Mark Malone, Cliff Stoudt? Um, not so much! 😉 I'll stick with 'em through thick and thin. This, too, shall pass. Right, Slacker?!?!?
Living in NE Ohio, I sincerly hope that the Browns go 14-2 every year! And they sure as heck better beat the Ravens twice!

I disagree with this because they are actually missing TWO! And the one you're NOT mentioning actually hurts the D more. That would be the loss of Aaron Smith, the unsung defensive end. In 2007, he suffered a season-ending injury as well, the Steelers still had Polamalu but exited the playoffs early. This season, without Troy but with Aaron, the team was 4-2. Take them both away, you have what you have now...mediocre at best on D.

When next year rolls around, they show us nothing but the same inept, almost cringe worthy, football that they show year after year. When the Steelers say "wait until next year", we go to the playoffs and maybe even win a Super Bowl.

I have no problem with the Steelers; just wanted some fun at their expense that's all. Fox 8 news taped a lot of Steelers fans before they entered the game with comments like "this is our stadium!!" "We own the Browns!" Along with a list of other jokes. I'm just glad we got a little revenge for once.
You have your Steelers through thick and thin; even Super Bowl champions have bad years. I have my Browns and they get on my last nerves but it is what it is!

Yes, but the Colts have a front office that doesn't suck. Hopefully, the Browns can turn it around there. If they do, the on-field results will improve for sure. As for Quinn? Jury is still out. Yes, the Browns won their last game, but he went 6-19 for 90 yards. Personally, I like the kid and want to see it happen for him. I did like what I saw in the Detroit game.
