In one of the earlier weekend bowl games, a player gets helped up by one of the officials. After he's up, he pushes the officials hands away and gets thrown out of the game for contact with an official. Granted the official probably shouldn't have touched the player.
Fast forward to last nights Fiesta Bowl, Miami versus Wisconsin. Just before halftime, Miami coach Mark Reicht is so upset about a holding call that isn't called that he literally grabs an official by the arm and pulls him.
My question is, if a player can't touch an official without getting thrown out of the game, why wasn't the coach thrown out for a much more egregious offense? Shouldn't the punishment be the same for coaches as well as players?
