Hey guys and gals, I thought it would be a gd idea for ppl to be able to trade and share tips and tricks that they know about pampering their feet.

We all know pedicures are great but has anyone found a home remidy that works just as well but for a lot cheaper?.. or is just simple better in their opinion?

Ive recently found that soaking my feet in pure baby oil for half an hour or so is working wonders as my feet arnt that naturally soft. :cry,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
SO yr feel open to post how u look after ur feet to keep them supple smooth and ever so ticklish 😉

Wear socks as often as you can, and always wear sneakers or tennis shoes, not sandals. I like to put lotion on right after I get out of the shower, because then the moisture gets trapped in your skin. Putting socks on after the lotion works wonders. 🙂 I use a pumice stone occasionally, but using it too much isn't recommended because it can make your skin raw. Well, that's all I can think of for now. Hope I helped! 🙂

How do you look after your's?

I keep my feet in tip-top condition by regular exfoliation of my soles (usually twice a week) as well as with daily moisturisation.

In addition, I trim and file my toenails once a week, in order to maintain their neat shape.

During summer months, I keep my feet out of closed shoes as much as possible, as they spend most their time in flip flops, in order to prevent the risk of developing athlete's foot, wearing canvas trainers when it's not possible or feasible to wear flip-flops.

In addition to normal shower and bath elements.

Soaking the feet in cold water for a few mins then transferring them to a hot bowl opens and closes the pores and gets the acidity removed, turkish baths, and sornas are also good.

oil and massage and let the air get to the feet, keep nylon away as much as possible, regular nail care is essential.

a good tickling mst help circulation.

Foot Pampering

🙂 I rub Shea Butter Foot lotion and the Heel of Approval on my feet every morning. Wearing socks after application will keep the feet moist and soft all day. Since I love going barefoot it is difficult for me to avoid sandals in the warmer months, but I compensate with several pedicures a month and a liberal use of Shea Butter Foot lotion daily. I usually duplicate my morning foot pampering at the end of a work-day. I keep a tube of lotion at work and use it when necessary. I try to avoid using a pumice stone myself, I would rather have a professional utilize it during a pampering pedicure.

1. Use and exfoliant and/or pumice stone during a good soak.
2. Apply a good lotion right after drying.
3. Sleep in socks.
4. File/Shape nails once a week.
5. Wear proper fitting shoes.

Hope this helps.

I use a Ped Egg and intensive foot softener. I also wear socks pretty much all the time too. Like others I like to put the lotion on then put socks on afterwards to lock the moisture in.

I commend you on this thread, Adam!! 🙂 I hope many contribute with photos too.

We had a 'how-to' section about this in the past on Ticklepalace. It was very popular because in general people don't know how to care for their feet.. and honestly, I have a friend in the business and even she says professional pedicures are not what they used to be since they're afraid of being sued if they scrape too hard or trim too closely.

You know what else? Many people in TK today- ones into foot tickling specifically!- seem to have adopted the trend of long nails and lazy attitude of "Hey, I don't have time for my feet. It is what it is. Deal with it".. and show up with horrendous hooves of an Ogre.. long nails slathered in nail polish as if that would solve the problem.. or feet that in general should be classified a health hazzard by the EPA, welded into boots permanently, and dropped into the Argentine Sea.

So I hope your thread does wonders.

But often it's not how you take care of them... it's how often.

Many ticklers (male and female) have a 'tickling meeting' coming up and they think they can undo months of wearing flipflips (the worst), sandals, bad shoes, and general nelgect in a couple days.

No can do. :cry

Also- pampering and sanding your feet is not going to make them ticklish. Ticklishness is based on how close the nerve endings are to the underside of your skin. Removing callouses and such can make them slightly more sensitive, yes. But don't think that a pedicure or such is going to change the genetic makeup of your tootsies. Rubbing them raw won't do a thing but leave you in pain and unable to play.

If you're going to be presenting your bare feet for ticklers then take the time to discover what works best for you. Jeez you've had your feet long enough-- you should know them by now!

There's many things that affect your feet: your weight, health, lifestyle, shoes, even diet. No two feet are alike. Some need to sand their feet two or three times a week-- others find their skin is too delicate for that and once per week is adequate. Some use pumice stones, some use Dr. Scholls sanders. Almost everyone suggests cream or lotioning them.

People aways comment on how great our feet look at faires, in photos, or at parties. That's because, like some here, we put time into them.

Here's our regimine. I suggest the Ped-egg lightly (don't press too hard or go from side-to-side!) couple of times a week. Base it on your own needs with the motto "less is more" in mind. Use it on dry feet, not after the shower. Followed by Dr. Scholl's sanders (one with a course and smooth side so you can smooth them as your final touch). Use Bath & Body Shea Butter, lather it on afterwards-- but it's much more useful if you lather it on when you're not going to be walking on them again that night, like right before sleep. Wear white socks, or not- that doesn't really make a difference (see photo of my tied soles below)

The more you lather them in Shea Butter, morning, night, and anytime inbetween, the smoother and softer your feet will be. Joggers or bootlovers- put it on before you run or go to work, wear double socks, you'll be amazed.

We (and those who play and work with me) keep our nails very very short- not like the French style or anything like that. So we cut as necessary, but because we stay on top of it we usually file them very short (see photo of tops of my feet below)

Stay on top of it folks! That's all it takes! Congrats on the thread again!
