Random Question Time:

How many people, outside of this forum, have any of you told/revealed/opened up about your fetish/love for tickling ?

I personally have only told one, It's not a matter of being ashamed personally, It's just still slightly new to me, and I have a bit more to learn before I can have a solid ground to stand on !

Most of my friends know I'm into kink in general. If asked about particular likes comes up, I generally mention tickling somewhere in there.

I feel kind of weird on this point, cause I have no problems telling people that Im a BDSMer, but it's harder to tell people Im into tickling. It depends on the person of course. Today about all my friends know about my tickling fetish. One of the reasons might be that me and my girlfriend where in a big public magazine talking about BDSM, and I mentioned that I had a fetish for feet and tickling.

I haven't gotten much negative comments back because of it eigther.
Moust people (at least the ones I know) find it more cute than creepy.

Thanks to my songs I've written, my entire family knows about my enfatuation with tickling. While I don't go shouting it from the mountain tops, I'll basically talk about it with anybody who seems interested in hearing about it.

My cousin Chuck who now lives in Vermont is married to a pretty woman who used to work with me named Melissa. A couple of years ago he told her about my tickling fetish and she acts like she either totally digs the idea or is totally amused by it. Whenever it comes up, she always says, "That is so funny!" But I suspect her interest goes beyond meer amusement.

Yesterday, I was talking to Chuck while working from home. At one point in the conversation he said, "Hey Drew, Melissa wants to know if this is going to be a Wednesday night tickle-fest?"

I replied, "Tell her, 'Only if she comes down.'"

He told her and her response was "Ooh grrrrrrowl!"

These are basically vanilla people, but very open minded. I've found that most people's reaction to a tickling fetish isn't anywhere near as big a deal as most of us fear it will be.

I've really only "told" one person that matters to me, besides my wife, and that was my best friend from high school. She and I still keep in contact and I have actually been able to tickle her once. Wow! If I ever tickled someone else it would be her, no doubt!!

I agree, but as far as I go there is still a small element of nervousness that is wrapped up in that, I have no problems discussing sex, but as soon as it even hints around tickling I freeze up.

Three people who I'm close to know I'm into tickling, and belong to TMF. My two best friends know, because we tell each other everything, and I know about their fetishes as well.

My mom knows, too, but that wasn't by choice. I've posted about this on here before: When I first joined TMF in 2002, the forum had an insecure chatroom, before the password one was installed. One day, I was talking to a girl, and forgot to ask age. Suddenly a "17" flashed up on the screen, and then I got a window saying I was in trouble with the NJ sex crimes division for soliciting information from minors, and I had to get a lawyer. I freaked out, thinking it was real, and told my mom about the incident, and the chatroom. Luckily, a couple of hours later, Myriads told me the "Cop" was a hoax, and that it had happened to others. The cat was out of the bag, though, and my mom knew. I havent told any of my other family members, like my father when I was talking to him, or my aunts or cousins. It isnt their business, and I never would have told my mom either, if that fake cop thing hadn't happened.

Come to think of it, there is a fourth person who knows, my first cousin Michael, who I suggested join the forum in 2004 just to see if he liked it. Unless he told my aunts, which isnt likely, because he's usually closed mouthed, they dont know.

So, four people, that's it.

I've only ever told my one ex-girlfriend, she was extremely cool with it. Although, I believe when we broke up she told everyone I had a foot fetish at least. Either that or I just got caught looking once or twice.

I'm on the same page as you, Crystal. The only person I've told other than my husband has been a good friend from high school whom I don't see that often. I told her only because I was a bit drunk and feeling crazy-brave. It's so weird that my gilrfriends and I have such frank, open, hold-nothing-back discussions about sex, but I am too chicken to tell them about my love of being tickle-tortured. Hell, I've even told them about my love of bondage (which they don't find odd in the least), yet I keep tickling locked inside.

I've mentioned it to a small handful of friends, one at a time as comfortable occasions arose. What made it easier is that, in the arts community that I'm involved with in New York, I have showcased a creative work which deals with fetishism (in this instance with an emphasis on spanking) and very much makes me look like a knowledgeable insider to the fetish world. But arts communities are a special case anyway: people's comfort levels with such realms are much higher in general. One actor I know, seeing my creative work, joked that it gave him ideas for things to try out at home, rather cute because he's in his 80s and has just recently married an actress who's in her 70s. Thing is, though, talking about my fetish makes most sense when there's a context that it fits into, as opposed to making like I have a big secret that the time has come to reveal.
