Magic disembodied foot tickling is your "toppest tier"? Why is that better than hands?

Anime/manga tickle scenes always go out of their way to make it not an actual person tickling someone (it's generally robo hands, feathers or magic hands like you said) and I have NO idea why this is so much more common than an actual person doing it. It's as if a person tickling someone is just TOO far and naughty, yet they'll have a boob grope in the same anime. I find it so incredibly dull

I think it's more a matter of being harder and more tedious to draw when you have to include two full characters in the scene. You have less to worry about with disembodied hands or robot hands.

It’s not a matter of laziness, it’s a matter of feasibility.

Both anime and manga are made on extremely tight schedules. Contrary to popular belief, many popular anime are not completely finished while they’re still airing. Production timelines in the industry is one of the biggest problems that animators face today. You want to know why so many shows have sudden recap episodes in the middle of their plots? That’s generally a sign that the production is in deep trouble and they are desperately buying time. Has a show’s animation quality started off incredible in the first few episodes but dropped as the show went on? That’s what we call a production collapse.

If you read the credits on some shows, you’ll notice how some anime have multiple animation directors. You’d think that’s a good thing, right? Well, no. See, when a show’s production collapses, the studio becomes desperate to find more and more key animators to finish the show on time. This leads to rapid hiring from any and all sources, even from people inexperienced with animation. So when those people are brought on board, that requires more animation directors to fix their mistakes. And that’s just a small part of the overall problem.

The overall problem is that the anime industry at large doesn’t have as many people wanting to animate as much as they used to nowadays. Partially because of what I explained above, partially because of other studios overseas offering better opportunities.

So bringing this back to tickling. One thing many of us have to realize is that most of these tickling scenes being made are not done for us, but for the purposes of comedy for general audiences. A big silly robot hand or a person with magic feather powers is just more of a comedic sight for most. And animating detailed hand and finger movement? That’s something generally reserved for the shows with the biggest and most stable productions, which is sadly a rare sight today.

Look, I get it. I feel that same frustration about many scenes posted here. But there’s no sense in getting mad about it when you probably aren’t even aware of the reality how these shows are made. You also have to realize that, by and large, tickling is a very niche kink in general. Of the thousands of visual novels on VNDB, the tickle torture tag lists only 60 visual novels.

I know for sure that that number is bigger than it seems, but when you consider the plethora of other tags on that site, that should give you an idea of how few people feel the same way about tickling.

despite not having a problem with magic feathers or robot hands personally, it did make me realize how lucky we were to get a scene like the dragon maid one

also made me realize why so many times characters are tickled by tools instead of fingers since its easier to animate a feather waving back and fourth than actual fingers on a hand.

So long story short, 95 percent of tickling scenes will be a waste of time. No wonder there's like maybe 4 or 5 scenes I liked out of 191 pages of this thread.
I still don't get it honestly, because you'll see in many of those animations a good deal of effort to go in lots of other scenes, and the robot hands fingers wiggle and move as much as a humans would anyway so it wouldn't even be harder to have a human doing the tickling, so instead of it being about difficulty they must really think it's just SO funny to have a robo hand doing it for the billionth freaking time. freaking snoozefest.

Well, 95% of the time it will be a waste of time for "You". Me myself enjoy every scene that we find and hope to find more lifeless beings tickle the hell out of female characters since that is my kind of kink.
I guess the tickle fetish scene has different nuances just like everything else and that is fine! 😄

As someone that draws for fun, drawing 2 characters is such a hassle. Not to mention being close contact, you hide like 50% of the body. All that wasted effort for essentially the same result for most people.

God, too relatable. Majority of my drawing include off screen or disembodied ticklers cause most of the time the extra effort just isn't worth it in the end or is WAY to hard.

I think those who detest them most are probably doms who fantasize by self-inserting as the tickler in any given scene, or who enjoy the intimate power exchange between the characters. Such aspects are obviously absent in such scenes. The main appeal of robo-hand tickling scenes (and what I enjoy about them) is from the sub perspective: being at the mercy of an unfeeling, untiring machine. There's also something a little silly and demeaning about these often cartoonish robo-hands, but that's frankly the appeal of tickling as a fetish to a lot of people in the first place. I know it's hard to accept, but your meat vessel with its meager two hands will always be inferior to the machine.

There's also another appeal imo, that being fabric and texture. In the case of gloved covered hands (robotic in this case) it's always appealing to imagine the gloves themselves being soft and slick, allowing the fingers to glide and scribble around with ease no matter how hard the fingers dig in~ I'm sure there are those out there that enjoy tickling from a sensory perspective, the feel of brushes and feathers and fingers touching them in certain ways turning them on more, and I feel like that can apply there. The thought of what the gloved or cold metallic hands against their body must feel like.

Same result for most people? Can you really not imagine the huge variety in ways another human can tickle another human?? As a tickle fan that boggles my mind.

Doing hard things is what makes an artist better, artists get better through challenge and drawing what they didn't already draw.

Not judging, I have some unusual kinks myself, I'm just saying the real reason. The way you're defending this complete lack or originality in tickle media makes me think if you could, you'd use a robot tickle machine than actually want to touch a beautiful woman yourself, which may be the oddest thing I've ever heard when it comes to someone's tickling preferences but oh well.

A bunch of arms tickling everywhere on the body is actually a lot more dull than one spot at a time, because you don't even know what the lee is reacting to and where they're most ticklish, it's all so generic with no focus.


I know those textures, they're really not very interesting. Plus from a LER perspective, why would I want some unfeeling machine to touch soft skin when I could be doing it? The whole intimate contact is GONE, which is half the fun of tickling to me.

Now, since I have derailed this thread to this discussion I'll just stop here and you can all go back to posting the same tired tickle concepts devoid of creativity. I understand now - you all have come to accept that there is no originality (and may never be) in anime tickle media and don't ask for more, some of you even LIKING this tired robo glove concept. Of course they're not going to give us more if you're all so easily pleased with the whole "beggers can't be choosers" tone, the only way this will change if actual tickle fans (that aren't lazy, some actually draw great tickle art) created a manga or anime.

Holy shit this was better than expected! Mihara tickles the commander with a brush, cotton swab, and then the feather stick in her hands. She thinks the commander isn't ticklish because hes not reacting, she eventually swaps her senses and starts laughing a lot and says its really ticklish. Turns out he was just holding it in to trick her. What a hot scene

Yea that was great and the Gushing for Magical Girls one those are top tier . I guess the productions of these was much more stable too.
